Currently, the absolute majority of shoes we see on pitches are from Nike’s “Motion Blur” and adidas’ “Turbocharge”. But “Turbocharge” is not the only novelty in the German brand’s store! A few days ago they released a special collection of cleats called “adidas Equipment” (you can see it HERE) and today we have something else for you: two colourways for GLITCH. The previous few compositions were really good. Just take a look at an incredible “Mirage Pack” HERE or another, older composition HERE and tell us they are not great.
Let us start with a quick reminder about what GLITCH is. It’s a model which can be modified to fit the customers’ needs best. There are a few versions of the inside part of a shoe available and even more of the outer part, connected with a sole. In general, this model is a refreshed idea started with F50 Tunit.
Let’s focus on the visuals. The first composition we’d like to present is officially called black/red/white. We can see a pattern similar to the one used for the previous composition: the upper is covered with lines running in different directions. Different shades of black and very dark grey are the leading colours in this composition. The whole design is complemented by red accents. The “Mirage Pack” we mentioned earlier was more cut for our tastes, with its vividness and garish colours, but we must admit that this model also has a spirit. It’s calmer and more peaceful, but still quite pretty.
The other composition is yellow/orange/green. The design is the same as in the darker version described above, only the colours have been changed. We think we like this set better, the crazy colours are exactly how we like them. Most of the upper is covered in the three official colours and apart from them we can see some black bits. Such a mix is nowadays a very popular and rather safe solution, but what matters is only the final result, which in this case is splendid.
This is yet another article, where we describe GLITCH colourways and are absolutely in love with them. adidas is doing a terrific job with those designs, but unfortunately not so much with the distribution of the model.
Recently there’s been a lot of premieres from the top brands, such as Nike or adidas. The American company presented their Motion Blur collection and the German one – Turbocharge. All the other competitors do their best to keep up with the leaders and show their own new products. For example, not so long ago Umbro released a stunning “Orange Pop” set consisting of the brand’s three main lines: Velocita, Medusae and UX-Accuro.
Today, we can show you another composition prepared by Umbro.
The first one we’d like to discuss is Velocita, the newest model in the company’s offer, which had its premiere last year. You can take a look at its first, launch colourway HERE. This one and most other that followed were really attractive and the compositions we’re presenting today is not an exception. We loved the incredible vivid look of “Orange Pop”, but we must admit that this cooler and calmer look is also fantastic. White and blue make a perfect match, and the subtle pattern typical for Velocita III on the blue parts makes the general effect even more splendid.
The next model in line is Medusae, the quality of which is just as good as of many of the best products offered by Nike and adidas. If you’re interested in finding out more about them, read THIS article. Just like in case of Velocita, Medusae in this collection is almost an opposite of the one from “Orange Pop”. Again, it’s a mix of blue and white, accompanied by some black accents on the lining and logo.
The last model is UX-Accuro, the detailed review of which you can read HERE. Once more, this is a quite nice composition with blue as a leading shade, accompanied by white and bits of black, all in all a good, peaceful composition, full of harmony.
We must congratulate Umbro, because this colourway is another example of their creativity and excellent work in creating new designs. It’s not easy to release a really pretty composition after something as brilliant as “Orange Pop”, and yet they managed to do that.
This is a short piece of news, but a rather important one. Nike has decided to do something really unusual for the release of the next collection made for Cristiano Ronaldo. Whenever we seen a more spectacular edition of cleats we can expect to see a matching ball, but never a one like this.
This time, along a beautiful edition of shoes for Cristiano, a ball from the very best level will be released, a model called Ordem IV, used in professional league matches. This is a really unexpected situation, but we are sure that many fans of the Portuguese will seize the opportunity. Which is a good idea in our opinion, because we don’t know if this is a permanent change or just a simple release with a top level football.
The realities of business are that often clients reach out for the product that is best promoted and made by a popular brand. There are some exceptions of course, sometimes the giants release an edition which is for some reasons less desirable. As you know, our priority is always the quality of a boot and we recommend that you trust our opinions more than ad campaigns. Today we’d like to list four models that are, in our opinion, very good and should be far more popular.
The first one is Puma evoPOWER Vigor. One of the last “power shoes” is comfortable, solid, provides nice stability. It seems to be a better choice than the opponent’s model, adidas Ace, not to mention cheaper! evoPOWER has plenty of attractive colourways and is in general a brilliant series, which remains almost unseen on pitches (especially among amateur players).
Nike Magista Opus II. Perhaps this is a kind of self-fulfilling prophesy, because we’re not surprised that there weren’t that many people playing in this model until now, since the upper was different (and not in a good way) from the one used for Obra II. But now, after the material was changed in Motion Blur collection, we expect to see much more of this shoe.
Umbro Medusae deserves some attention, even though it’s sometimes hard to buy, because of the terrible work of Polish distributor. This model has excellent balance between quality and price. It easily beats some of the competition’s products which are twice as expensive. We are aware, that not many shops in Poland can offer it, but that’s not an explanation for asking blindly “and what Nike cleats do you have in offer?” when being offered a pair, sometimes even with a discount.
This is an option for those who prefer leather and classical solutions. Your fathers, if they still play football, probably choose adidas’ Copa Mundial, which is a perfect example of how the fame of one brand can make all the others almost invisible, even if they offer much better products. In our opinion Mizuno Morelia (the simple one, not “Neo”) is a far more interesting choice. Just take it on hands and compare with Copa and you’ll see the different immediately.
Another model could write about is Ace 17.1 in a short version, but this choice seems less obvious and we are not absolutely sure of its quality yet. That’s why we’ll skip it for now and recommend you consider four models described above, if you’re looking for something in good quality and matching price.
Last week we presented an unexpected leak of a model from another unusual Nike colourway: a (light) blue Magista Opus. Because of the colour, typical for female editions, and a different than usual border of a swoosh we thought that might be one of future Nike collections designed for women.
However, today’s leak proved us wrong. As you can see, this is Nike Magista Obra II, but this seems to be a junior edition, not a senior one. And as we all know, junior editions are only made for men collections.
Other leaks of Obra II look completely differently. All that makes us a bit confused, and given the fact that we have here two equally possible scenarios, we’ll just have to wait and see for the official release. Which, unfortunately, means rather a lot of time.
Earlier this week we showed you a leak of a new colourway of Nike Mercurial Vapor. Partly dark blue, partly pink and with a difficult to name leading colour, at least for eyes of a male. Today we’re presenting another model in similar design, which means that we can expect a collection consisting of all four boots in the same colours.
This is Nike Magista Opus II, which we named one of the most underrated models currently sold. As we said in the article about Vapor, this composition will probably be released in September. We wonder if the situation of the model will improve by then and if not, if this nice colourway could be of any help.
Easter break is officially over, but luckily we are left now not only with a few kilos extra but also an interesting leak, which will certainly catch attention especially of some older readers, who remember a beginning of a revolution of football footwear. In the 90s’ adidas had a series called “adidas Equipment”, which consisted of rather universal sports’ clothing in a characteristic, green colour.
The German brand is known to enjoy reaching back to some older models, such as Predator, every now and again, and now in the same way they are now reminding us of the said series in a special edition of football shoes (not cleats, turfs and indoors).
The choice of models serving as inspiration gives us a history lesson about adidas’ past with three products, each one of them being based on a different period. We think that the “oldest” one is the most interesting. Mundial Team was rarely, if ever, released in colours different than black and white. All the fans of the greatest indoor classic will surely pasy attention to this model.
The second product is a compromise: its material is excellent quality leather but made in modern times. Young Copa 17.1 is a shoe we often mentioned in our articles and now it’s been given a special edition, which won’t be available in cleats version with FG or SG sole.
The last boot, Ace 17+ Purecontrol is pure modernity. Unfortunately, because of a high price, the shoe is rarely seen anywhere in Poland, so chances of buying here this or any other special edition are practically nonexistent. Nevertheless, we like this idea of celebrating the past. Well done adidas!
We meant to write this article after the last match Lech vs Legia, but somehow we didn’t. And how lucky that is, because we wanted to describe a change of shoes by one footballer, but now we can see that he wasn’t the only one to do so and there’s much more that requires attention. What’s this all about?
The first one we spotted was Łukasz Trałka, who’s been using Adidas Ace for a long time. We think he wasn’t very fond of the most recent generation, because he had been seen wearing Ace 16 even after the premiere of 17. Now, however, Łukasz plays in Puma evoPOWER and this change is in no way a coincidence.
Apparently, after giving away plenty of shoes to the footballers and spending tons of money on battling Nike adidas had to cut back on some costs. Their strategy was so far very aggressive: boots were given even to some of the best players in Junior leagues and in some teams, such as Legia, footballers were forbidden to use Nike’s cleats (read more about it HERE). Our guess is that this type of advertising turned out to be too expensive.
fot. Michał Łada, Wisła Płock
As a result, many players who used to get free shoes from the company don’t get this kind of treatment anymore. Not all of them, obviously, which lead to some tension: it was obvious which athletes adidas finds more valuable and which less, some of those unlucky being really important figures in Polish football scene, such as Trałka. Those who were discarded had to start buying their own cleats or find another sponsor, and since Nike wasn’t interested in collaboration they turned to Puma.
Nowadays we can see much more of EvoSopeed and evoPOWER than a few months ago, most of the shoes being models in the most recent colourways. This is a proof of our theory, because if the footballers simply bought their own shoes, we are sure that at least some of them would have chosen other designs. Another brand to benefit from the changes was Mizuno – we saw some people wearing the kangaroo cleats as well.
That way, Puma has suddenly and quite effortless become a much more important player in Polish football – not a major yet, but they have to start somewhere. We wonder if the result of adidas’ changes won’t turn out to be more harmful than helpful to them.
Quite often you can see how one brand suddenly starts to dominate in the number of leaks on our website. Recently it was adidas, but now they gave way to Nike. Almost every day we’re able to show you now compositions, new version of a sole or a new model. Today we have one of the most interesting pieces of information: a professional model in a new version.
This is new Nike Mercurial Vapor XI. Looking at all the previous leaks, we think that it will be released at the end of summer holidays, soon after the league really starts. Its colour is set somewhere between grey and light blue with dark blue and pink, which is a rather unusual mix, but a really good one too.
If you’ve been paying attention to leaks connected with the first colourway created for the most famous Brazilian footballer you’ll be really surprised by this news. It is known, that Neymar uses Mercurial Vapor XI, even though Nike tired to make us believe that’s not the case for a long time. Eventually, they officially moved “Jr.” to their most popular series. The fact that Barcelona’s player chooses Vapor over Superfly was meant to be emphasized in the composition made for him, where Vapor would be the best available model. But apparently that is not the plan, after all!
We have found leaks of Nike Mercurial Superfly V in Neymar’s colourway. We expect to see them released soon, perhaps even next month. All the fans of the Brazilian who wish to have cleats connected with their idol, or people who – like us- simply like the colourway a lot will be given a chance to buy also the very best model.
Of course, this prediction is just our prediction, the reality may turn out to be different. Why? Because it is possible that the Superfly V we’re seeing in this picture is just a sample which will not be included in the final set. We don’t think that’s the case, but we cannot be certain before the premiere. In other case this sample would be a really unique model, desired by every collector.
In the last article we showed you first boots which are going to be a novelty in early 2018 and we are really surprised, that today we can show you another such model! The presented shoes are Puma’s proposition for the end of the year, which base on black and red colours, just like Opus II (CLICK).
Just like in Nike’s product, only the sole and the back of the boot are red. But this is where the likeliness ends, because the graphics is very different. It looks a bit like volcanic magma or maybe some animal-inspired pattern. Do you like it? We’re not convinced by this design, but we are very confident in the quality of the shoe. In fact we think that evoPOWER Vigor is one of the most underestimated currently available shoes.
This is the first time we’re able to present you shoes which will most likely be released in 2018. What an interesting year it’s going to be: the World Cup always is an inspiration for many great colourways. But this is a colourway set for the very beginning of the year. When it arrives on shop shelves, we’ll probably be already looking forward to other new Magista colourways. But for now...
This is Magista Opus II in a black-red composition. As you can see, after a colourful and bright beginning of the year, Nike intends to welcome winter with much calmer designs, which seems a reasonable idea, given that it’s easier to get cleats dirty when there’s more mud on a pitch, so darker colours are quite desirable. But on the other hand, just a splash of brightness wouldn’t be a bad idea. Does this colourway look familiar to you? We think it’s very similar to one of the older compositions made for CTR360 series.
Most of the recent leaks concerning Nike’s cleats show us future divided into colours. One part of an upper is dark, the other is bright, the best example of which is Hypervenom, where its design naturally inclines the separated colours. But there is one composition in the whole set, which is much calmer in the matter of colours.
We have shown it recently on Opus II model and today we’re adding Obra in SG-Pro version. We have found an interesting thing about the construction of the shoe in the Motion Blur collection. We wonder if we’ll be able to find similar details in this colourway as well.
Recently, all the leaks of Nike cleats we’ve been finding are rather chaotic and we’re slowly trying to figure out to which collections all those shoes may belong. We’re trying to guess which are for men and which for women, to create a schedule for the next months, find all the irregularities in construction and point out which boots are special editions. This Phantom III DF, the top model from Hypervenom series, fits this pattern of mysteries very well.
We’ve never thought about it that way, but in a way, in Hypervenom Nike is now following the idea created for Superfly III: one side of the shoe has a different colour than the other, usually a strongly contrasting one. In a recent leak of yellow Phantom III (CLICK) outer side was bright and yellow and in this model it’s quite the opposite: the inside is brighter. Once again we can see a detail which suggests that we’re dealing with a women composition – the border of a swoosh is yellow, the same colour as in Motion Blur collection.
We mentioned recently a few times about an upcoming premiere of a new Puma model, Puma ONE, and we described it as available only in leather. But apparently we were wrong, because in the most recent leak we can clearly see a synthetic edition. However, it doesn’t necessarily mean that we should expect ALL of editions of this model to be available in two versions.
The colour may not indicate that clearly – Puma likes to be original and surprise us on that field – but this is a limited edition. We think that the German brand will every now and again prepare special releases which will not only have unusual colours, but also a different material of the upper. So far, what we’re seeing now in the picture is so far the most attractive ONE we’ve seen.
It’s time to relate to some earlier leaks with new models and new soles. In a few months, most likely in June, Nike will present another collection for cleats with yellow as a leading colour. It’s most important feature it the fact that it will include the seventh generation of Tiempo for the first time.
Two more leaks-eggs for the leaks-basket: the first one is Hypervenom Phantom III with loads and loads of yellow. The inside is black, but all in all this design is sill rather bright. It may not be abvious in this picture, but this is an AG version.
The other model is Vapor in SG-PRO. Mix will probably be available also in anti-clog version. Because of the gradient used here, the design seems darker than in Phantom, but here the colour can also be seen on the inside part. In our opinion Mercurial is the jewel in the crown of this collection.
In the previous article we wrote about low level indoors (X 17.4), now we’re back to cleats. This is not the top, professional model either, but still an improvement from the mentioned indoors. These are some of the first releases of X 17.2.
Both are really interesting. We can see that the upper seems to have a knitted structure. Could shoes from this level be made of some sort of mesh? adidas has shown before, that they can release improved lower quality models. X series won’t be changed much for the future generation, so perhaps this is the progress we should expect?
This is definitely not the top shelf, but the news may still interest many of you, especially because low level versions of adidas’ indoors are in fact really good quality and often worth considering. That’s why today we’ll take a look of them as well.
The model in the picture is indoor version of X 17.4, the cheapest version of adidas’ new generation. Just like in the top model, this upper has “spots”. We wonder if this is just a painted pattern or whether there actual holes in the material. We already quite a lot about the X model we’re waiting for, but there are still some mysteries to be solved.
This week was started with news about Puma and as you can see, the subject is not finished yet with the two colourways we described before. The closer we get to the premiere, the more titbits are released and right now we’re honestly flooded by leaks, including this new colourway.
This is a definitely different style from the other two. At first things were calm and now it’s time to get a bit more crazy. This is the first garish edition and probably also the first one to fit the tastes of people who prefer brighter cleats.
One of the things we love most is writing an article based on a feedback from our readers. Miłosz Gawecki brought this photo to our attention, which was originally posted by one of Legia’s footballers. This is a really interesting situation, because we’re looking at a blackout of adidas’ upcoming Nemeziz 17.1.
It belongs to Sandro Kulenović. This is a 17.1, not a 17+ version with covered laces. The fact that a footballer is seen wearing blackouts means that very little time separates us from the premiere. Right now adidas is gathering opinions from players to make custom versions for them for the premiere.
Recently Nike has released a new collection called Motion Blur, which consisted of cleats for both men and women. Once a quarter the American syndicate pays tribute to the ladies and gives place for speculations every now and again, whether a colourway presented in a leak could be a WMNS type.
We think this one is. This Nike Magista Opus II colourway is scheduled for the end of the year. It’s bright, it’s pretty, it certainly has certain female spirit and delicacy. Honestly, most designs made for women are pretty, so this one fits the pattern.
As you might have noticed, we have a season on TEPY.PL for filling in some gaps. We showed Neymar’s colourway on Vapor (CLICK) and this is another attempt to move a familiar design to a higher lever: one of the future compositions on Nike Mercurial Superfly V.
We showed this colourway on Vapor, last week there was also anti-clog (which is available only for two top, professional levels).
Anti-clog is not very popular in Poland, mostly because of their price. Cleats with the system preventing mud from sticking to the sole it the most expensive option in Nike’s offer and for this reason most people interested in buying it are professional footballers.
At last here they are! The first Vapor made for Neymar! The design surely looks familiar by now, because we showed it on many cheaper models and some indoors, but only now we are able to write about what we love most.
Neymar switched back to Mercurial last December, after a long break. Or maybe not such a long one after all, because he’s been using Vapor painted like Phinish instead of the real Hypervenom for quite a while. That’s why Nike decided to move him to Mercurial and quickly designed the first themed colourway for the Brazilian.
As always, when judging special editions such as this one everyone takes into consideration not only the quality and style, but personal sympathies and antipathies. But on this model we can’t see the footballer’s name written down anywhere, so this colourway shouldn’t be “painful” to everyone who’s not fond to Barcelona’s star.
You have seen them in catalogue pictures, today you can see them in real photos: ladies and gentleman, Puma ONE! This is a final product, the version we’ll almost certainly see in shops. Such leaks are always an opportunity to take a look the product from a different perspective and find some new interesting details.
The collar caught our attention; it resembles the one from Ace 16.1 Primeknit – looks a bit like a sweater. The back is also interesting, because if this material we’re seeing is hard, then this heel counter is really tall! In fact taller than in Nike’s Legend VI. Does that mean we can expect good stability?
We have another titbit for you: the second colourway for this model. It’s a twin of one of designs for evoTOUCH released a few months ago. There are a few details here, which were not visible well on the white colour. Near the front of the shoe there is a varnish border, more varnish is visible also on the top of leather bulges, where it helps with ball control.
On one hand, it may be slowly getting boring, posting all the articles about leather X 17.1 (HERE is the previous one), especially when the next generation will not be much different from the current one. On the other, X is a really good boot and huge commercial success, so the hell with it! We’ll post everything we can :)
In the picture you can see one of the first colourway, perhaps even the launch one. The clock is ticking and there’s less and less time left until the premiere, which will most likely take place in June. The novelty is the upper, which is not made in a traditional way (leather and foam), but with leather glued to a synthetic cage. We’re expecting to see more of pictures of X 17 in the upcoming days and we’re hoping a lot that some of them will show also other colourways.
We have informed you many times before that there is a little revolution coming in Puma’s offer. There is something about those Germans, they need to turn things upside down every now and again – take a look at what adidas did a few years back. There were other attempts like this one, and, to be fair, most of them didn’t end well. Is there a chance, that Puma’s plans will have a better result?
In this article we won’t describe the process itself (we’ll get to that later this week!), but its symbolic model. Soon, Puma will introduce a new model of football cleats, which will have a name not fitting in the pattern used for the past few years. There will be no “evo”, the model will simply be called Pume ONE.
We stated, that in 2017 brands seem to be more focused on leather than synthetic, and this company is a perfect example of that. The great most of ONE’s upper is made of that material. A large area made of leather is sewed across only in two places, which leaves a lot of space for soft cushions.
When we’re looking at them we can’t help but think about another model made by Puma – King SL. We think that ONE is a modernised version of King, but with a collar.
When we think about all the way we went from the first leaks of Ace, through pictures of the second generation and ending here, it all seems to be a history repeating itself. This week closes down with yet another design of (almost) completely black cleats. Not because that’s the design the company created, but because that’s the phase of testing the model!
This is a prototype of Ace 18.1 in “short” version, not Primeknit or Primemesh, but standard. We must admit, that the whole situation is a bit confusing, because the generation 17 is not really treated seriously and it seems like adidas sort of abandoned this subject. The only model available in offer is not too available. Will that change in the upcoming edition? Let’s hope so, because the one we’re using now seems to be a very good one, and all the details we can see in the prototypes look even more promising.
Those with similar tastes in cleats to ours must be really satisfied with this year’s offer. Today, we’d like to present another colourway made for one of the best shoes on the market, Nike Mercurial Superfly V. Those of you who still don’t know, why we are so fond of this shoe, can read THIS review, where everything is explained in detail.
As we stated some time ago, Nike refreshes colours which were used for some colourways two years ago. Does this mix of blue and black seem familiar? There was a similar Magista from the first generation which had a more-less the same use of colours, except for dark blue. We are not sure if it was used there, but it surety fits this design. It’s also possible that the colour of the Flyknit material will be changed between samples and the final design. How do you like this new Nike design? We think it’s fantastic.
Most colourways signed with a name of a famous footballer are not too spectacular, but this Nike edition is bound to be a huge success. First of all, the cleats from this line have never been included in special releases, secondly this is the most popular boot in the company’s offer and finally, this is a really good colourway.
Rarely do we pay as much attention to the lower quality levels as today. In December, Nike launched a Victory model with a DF collar, so that people who can’t afford the top quality could also consider buying popular “the sock version”. As always, we’d like to remind you that the sock is indeed cool, but that it’s only a gadget and should not be a priority. Either way, Victory III DF in an edition made for Neymar will surely be a bestseller.
We have written about them a few times before and mentioned that another boot will be introduced with this Brazilian-themed release: a cheaper version of sock NikefootballX. You can take a look at it HERE.
This is the last piece of news from the series about “black series”, at least until something else shows up. This time the main character of the story previously starred by Ace and Copa (NEMEZIZ remains a mystery) is X. We think in this collection we can expect to see the new generation of the model already.
In the picture you can see a part of 17.1 model, professional level shoe, but not the top one yet. It seems that this one will have a tiny colour accent apart from all this black. adidas logo is shimmering, which doesn’t really fit the rest of the set, but looks really well and still has the same spirit. We’re not the greatest fans of messing with a pattern like that, but in this case we admit that the result is really promising, Just as you, we are incredibly curious about the rest of the product.
Another piece from a story about black boots. We’re teasing, showing you things bite after bite, but we can’t wait any longer to show you this beauty. We were wondering about Copa being a part of the black collection, which would look really good on it, given that it’s a leather, classical model. Today, we can show you the said shoe not as cleats, but something even more interesting.
This is a turf Copa 17.1. A boot of the highest quality, but unfortunately also equally high price- over 600 PLN, which is really a lot for a shoe which is not the most hot topic. But we have to appreciate them anyway and we are sure, that anyone dealing a lot with indoor football will agree with us. That’s why many people with deep pockets will buy them anyway, in this version or IN, especially in such a lovely colourway.
In this article we’re still be staying in the subject of Ace and barely change the colour. The shoes in the picture are indoors, that’s why apart from dark shades we can see brown-ish, rubber sole and a white stripe on the back part of it. Nevertheless, this is another model from the series of blackouts, such as previously shown adidas Ace 17.1 Primeknit.
Now we can tell, that this won’t be a special release with a solo model, but a regular collection with all models included. Or at least most of them, it’s too early to make any speculations on this field. Until now, Messi 16 was often a boot which got a different treatment than others, but when this collection is released, NEMEZIZ will have already taken its place. As we saw in Turbocharge collection, Copa is now a boot with a tendency to have designs varying from other models’. We hope that’s not the case, because this colourway would really suit this shoe!
After two pieces about Nike cleats it’s time for something black from adidas. And that is always a promising sign, because the company is known to release not just black shoes, but full blackouts. Today we have first model from the series: Ace 17.1 Primeknit.
Surprisingly, the new generation presented in November 2016 is quite a success, despite some doubts we had about it. This is a good option for people with wide feet and tall instep. After releasing a whole palette of colours on the model (there was blue, white and red) adidas goes back to the January’s theme, like in Chequered Black pack, but this time without any extra patterns. We love it! That’s so good to see adidas making such colourways every now and again.
We’ve been seeing a lot of Nike Magista Opus II on this site recently, perhaps this means that the age of prosperity has come for this shoe. As we commented in the article on Motion Blur, the change of an upper has definitely been an improvement. Some good compositions also help with making this boot more popular. This article shows another Opus, from the black series promised in the previous article.
This is definitely another example of a collection with anti-clog, as was Vapor XI showed earlier. As you can see, Nike decided against using any additional brighter colours, except for the tips of the studs. But those won’t be visible anyway, after they hide in grass.
We mentioned earlier this week, that we’ll publish articles paying a lot of attention to the colours of the described shoes, but in the end, it’s the good old black that steals the scene this week. And even though we often comment, that sometimes too many dark cleats are being made, this time these black shoes may actually brighten your week.
Let’s start with the things you already know: in the third quarter Nike is going to release a lot of shoes with black as leading colour. We have shown you Vapor XI, but not in this version. Here, you can see a mix, anti-clog sole! That means that a special technology has been used to prevent the shoe from collecting so much mud, which clogs the space between studs.
It has been announced that from now on, Nike will release all their cleats in anti-clog version as well, even Premier 2.0, which we showed recently. The only exceptions could be special editions such as Strike night made for Aubameyang.
It’s been a while since we wrote about this subject, even though it’s rather popular phenomenon and “happens” probably to every brand. Today we’d like to discuss samples – the early models of cleats, made for testing phases. Quite often they are really different from what we eventually see in shops. One of such interesting cases is Magista Obra II.
In the article you can see two pictures. Can you tell which boot is the “official” one? (Yup, that’s the one above). We all know the final product well, we described it not so long ago in an article on Motion Blur Pack, which you can read HERE. But the samples for this shoe are something different entirely.
So, what are these differences? First of all: the swoosh. It’s not black, only the border of the logo is dark. The sole is different too, but don’t mind that, it’s simply AG instead of FG. What’s above the sole is more important! The lime coloured part of the shoe has stripes in the final design, but was even in the first one. Because of that, this time we can say, that we like the product that we got more than the sample, which doesn’t happen so often.
Nowadays, adidas has a rather strong, secure position, the only soft spot in their offer being Messi line. It was not the quality that doomed the boot, there was nothing wrong with that, but the name – not everyone wants to play in cleats signed with somebody’s name. Recently, we’ve been writing a lot about NEMEZIZ line; we have shoed you AQUA composition and an orange one. As we know, Messi will from now on use NEMEZIZ himself, but apparently this is not the connection between the man and the model.
There will be no more shoes named after Messi, but he will get his own, special colourways instead, just like Ronaldo does from Nike. They will be made in unique colours, dedicated to the player and some extra inscriptions will be put on a special bar. Above you can see the first look of Nemeziz 17.1 Messi. Once again we can see completely different type of upper.
As icing on the cake we have something else for you: a black and white composition, which will be released in the third quarter of the year. This one, however, does have the stripes, like the launch one. Maybe Nemeziz is some antique female name? Because it’s nature is as changing as a woman.
Last week we mentioned shoes for which we’ll have to wait a long, long time. Today we can tell you something more about it, because another footballer was spotted testing them, apart from Pogba. The model is of course Ace 18 and the player is Ivan Rakitić from Barcelona, one of the series’ brightest stars.
As you can see in the picture, the shoes are currently being tested. We think that it’s too early to speak of final improvements, so we think there may be a few versions of the model at this stage and the brand is currently trying to choose the best one, just like it was with X16+ Pureachaos. We are so envious! We’d give anything to be a part of this “selection process”. Let’s just hope that Rakitić will choose wisely!
This week a lot of shoes under our microscope were orange: first Puma, than NEMEZIZ. And since we mentioned NEMEZIZ, we thought it would be a good idea to remind you of one other leak of this model, a white one, for a change.
You know our taste, so it shouldn’t be surprising, that our redaction praises this colourway out loud. We can’t speak for the quality yet and some details remain a mystery, but we can make a positive comment about the visual side of the shoe, especially in this design. adidas realised that naming a line Messi after the famous footballer was a mistake, so hopefully this model will take place of the failed one and, with the right name and construction, make up for the older brother’s mistakes.
Given that X 17.1 will be really similar to the current generation, we’re not waiting for it as much as for NEMEZIZ. We have already showed a few colourways prepared for the latter boot (CLICK, CLICK, CLICK) and today it’s time for another one, which can tell us a few interesting things about the German company’s new series.
The colourway is called “aqua” and at least one of the colours on the upper fits the name. We can see signing F.C. NEMEZIZ on a green stripe, which is probably a part of a bigger marketing campaign designed for the model. In all the previous models, however, the text said simply NEMEZIZ, so we are really curious whether this is just the matter of differences between samples or will this element actually change every now and then. Another interesting aspect is the lack of the stripes running along the whole upper, which we first spotted on the launch colourway and thought that may be an element improving ball control and rotation. But in this model it’s no longer here, even though we don’t think this is a lower quality model, e.g. 17.2. So what will the final product really look like?
It’s been rather quiet recently about Puma’s cleats. For reasons unknown, the brand distances itself from the two leaders and functions on its own. On one hand, we admire the spirit, on the other we can’t ignore the general lack of progress and holding not-so-effective experiments, such as Puma ONE, which we are not too excited about.
Another collection of cleats is almost ready to be released, in fact we fear that in may show up even before we publish this article. This one, however, is a bit more related to everything that Nike and adidas do: very garish boots with orange as a leading colour. We’ve shown evoPOWER Vigor countless times before, so many that some of you may even think they have already been released!
Our attention was caught especially by evoTOUCH, which looks especially good. This is the boot with the shortest lifespan in the producer’s offer. Usually, Puma’s shoes are on the market for about a year, but this one was introduced in the midsummer and will be shot down in May. Could this be the last colourway made for this model?
The surprise is EvoSpeed, which will also be shut down. This model is also orange, as we expected, but we didn’t realise that Puma will release them in TRICKS version – one boot is orange, the other is darker. What’s unusual, this motif appears now and then in evoSpeed, but it’s a rare guest in evoPOWER. Probably Buffon ruled that way :)
A lot of contradict signals have been sent about to the premiere of Nike’s new collection. One of the really weird things is the fact that the collection has not yet been officially released, even though it’s already available in shops and we’ve seen stars playing in it, which in our opinion is always the moment of official premiere. But despite all that Nike still haven’t said a word! Maybe they were so focused on celebrating Revolution Pack and Air Max Day? Either way, we were waiting for them with eagerness! And, finally, here they are!
We should start with the article in which we described our first impressions on Radiation Flare Pack. The last Nike colourway was simply amazing and brought colours and life back to cleats, which were missing during after many dark compositions. Green Superfly, even the green Tiempo stole out hearts. We were unable to choose the prettiest ones, not to mention pointing the ugly ones – that would simply be unfair to them. That said, the expectations were really high and luckily, Nike managed to meet them perfectly.
In our presentation we’ll start with the ones we like most and choosing it, we might add, was not an easy task. After much consideration we decided on Hyperenom Phantom III. Partly because this is still a fresh and most interesting model, and partly because the composition is simply fascinating. This is the brightest colourway made for Phantom III (well, there have been only three of them so far, but still), and the calmest one as well. White and blue cleats are always a good idea, so it’s no surprise that this design is another success. We really like the pattern of slightly worn-out colour in the edge of diamonds. This is the first time we see Nike showing such interesting ideas for this shoe.
Choosing the second place was also really hard, but in the end we settled for Mercurial. Speaking about this line we can’t only focus on the design, but also their unmatched quality. The top models, Superfly V and Vapor XI are incredible boots even at their worst, and this colourway certainly helps them to be even better. Motion Blur is one of the few designs made every now and again that are painted pink. The last one was created about a year ago. This time almost 3/5 of the shoe is in colour, the rest is white. Such details are being changed quite often, perhaps to make up for the little change between generations.
Almost just as pretty as Mercurial is Magista and from what we’ve heard many people find this one the most gorgeous. And we can’t really say they’re wrong, especially in case of Obra II. But personally, we’re really fond also of Opus II because, as promised, the upper has been slightly changed. Before, the unevenness were made artificially, but now they are much alike the knitted ones known from Obra. Now that we can touch them we think they are something between Obra II and Magista X Finale. The shape of insets is the same one like in Obra, but the material is obviously synthetic inside.
The last (but not really that much the least) is Tiempo Legend VI. In the last collection, this model was absolutely crazy and changed the general reception of the boot a little, but now we’re back to the normal, where it simply doesn’t suit all the others too much. With this construction of the upper it takes a lot to make this model seem “younger”, but as we’ve seen before, it is a possible task.
On August 12 2003, 18 year-old Cristiano Ronaldo arrived in Manchester, England to join his new team. He expected to wear number 28 as he had with his previous club, but his iconic manager had other ideas. “Alex Ferguson said to me: 'Listen, I want you to take number seven,'” recalls Ronaldo. “I was surprised because I knew the guys who had worn that shirt.”
Ronaldo quickly proved himself worthy of the seven shirt and forged his game and physique during his years in Manchester. “It was the beginning of my success in football,” says Ronaldo. “I improved not just my skills but my body too.”
"In the five years that I was there, I learned the art of football" - Cristiano Ronaldo
Ronaldo contributed mightily to the team’s three consecutive league titles and was awarded the world’s best player award in 2008. “In the five years that I was there, I learned the art of football. We won many things together. It was a dream for me,” says Ronaldo.
These transformative years provide the inspiration for Ronaldo’s Chapter 4: Forged for Greatness boots. The design is a nod to hot iron being forged into shape. Molten-esque orange and red gradients on the plate transition into metallic tones of the color-shifting upper. The CR7 logo on the medial side features a prominent 7 against tonal “CR” lettering to highlight his shift to the number seven shirt during these years. The heel counter features the Roman numerals for 28, Ronaldo’s previous number, with the VII of the XVIII highlighted to reference the emergence of 7 from 28.
We are not sure if this is a right lead, but hopefully this is another boot from a grey collection we showed you earlier. Please welcome HypevenomX Proximo, brother of MercurialX Proximo which we shoed HERE.
The date of premiere of this one is set further in future than the previous one. The grey colour looks interesting on Hypervenom because of the irregular structure of the upper. Also, much more of additional colour, at least compared with Mercurial, has been used here. We think this colourway is a bit similar to a recently released MercurialX Proximo from Revolution Pack. Do you think so too?
We enjoy all the leaks, but most of all the ones of special editions, or at least a bit different from normal products released every month. For some time we have known, that Nike intends to release cleats with swooshes covered in tiny stars. You have already seen Hypervenom, Mercurial and Magista from this set, but what about Tiempo?
That wasn’t an obvious question, given that a next generation of the shoes from this series in on the way. This was the last line missing, so until now we didn’t know if we should expect and old or a new version. Today we can show you pictures of the last missing model, where we can clearly see the current edition. That also means, that the wait for this release won’t be as long as one might think.
Today we have a real treat for you, an item that is already familiar to anyone watching our TEPY TALK videos on Youtube. This is a model, which we called Hypervenom Phinish in the title, but we should definitely elaborate the proper name for it. This is something absolutely unique, we wish we had more of such original boots to write about, because they are something we always find most interesting.
As you know, brands make special boots for their brightest stars and less popular footballers as well, if that is what they want. It’s not likely that Ronaldo or any of those guys will ever play in the same shoes that we can buy in shops. Sometimes the modifications are tiny, sometimes substantial.
The boots in the picture have a full SG sole, which is already unusual, but another curiosity comes in the form of them being made for one of Poland’s national team players.
The upper is standard Phinish from Floodlights Glow pack, but the sole used here is different, which should be obvious for any cleats fan. It has many types of studs, where the normal one only had oval ones. We think it seems to look a bit like the one from Tiempo Legend, not only because the studs but the construction in the mid-foot as well. Nevertheless, this is definitely not the very same model, also for other reasons.
We noticed tiny insets on the front (which makes a lot of sense) and in the back. Such elements are made to improve ball control and definitely don’t belong with any boot from Tiempo series.
In our opinion, this is a sole which was made by Nike at some point, tested and then abandoned. Other theory is that this sole will be used for the next generation of Tiempo, in which case we’ll know for sure in a few months, when Legend VIII is released. Answering the question asked by one of our followers, these shoes were made (according to our knowledge) for Łukasz Teodorczyk.
Today’s model, Umbro Accelerator, is not a typical guest on our website. There are a few levels of this shoe but we are going to focus on the top quality one, Accelerator KL, which was given a special colourway a few days ago.
The front part of the upper is made of incredibly soft and comfortable kangaroo skin. It must be really good quality, because we can see many sewings on it, some of which run across the upper. The rest of the shoe is obviously made of synthetics. A light TPU sole was made of nylon material and has 13 conical studs that provide excellent traction and stability. The lacing system is symmetrical.
Let’s move on to visuals, which certainly are something to talk about. Most of the shoe is black, complemented by white elements on the side of the upper, which look a bit like paint splashes. Add gold Umbro’s logo and stripes on the heel and the effect is quite nice. This is a limited colourway, so naturally it will be available only in limited quantities.
After all these years, we have found many patterns in Nike’s actions. For example: every quarter they were releasing cleats in the same coloursets, with changing leading colour. Nowadays we can see a trend of returning to old habits. Is the Motion Blur collection not similar to Clash, made for Euro 2012?
We thought about it, because two years ago in summer Nike launched a whole set of shoes with grey as a leading colour. This year we can expect some more greys, such as on this MercurialX Proximo. We feel like NikefootballX has recently been in stagnation. Magista from this series is interesting, but MercurialX and HypervenomX are so similar, that they seem to be an effect of someone’s laziness. This colourway accidentally stresses some other weak spots, but don’t worry, we’re not declaring them useless before testing them ourselves!
If you’re following our website you know that some time ago adidas launched a new colourway for Glitch, consisting of three compositions. It was called “Mirage Pack” and you can read more about it HERE. We’re mentioning it now, because today we’d like to present you another colourway for Glitch, a model which can be modified according to users’ needs and preferences, just like old F50 Tunit.
The new colourway is available only in leather, despite the fact that Glitch is normally made in both versions, synthetic and leather. As usual, we can easily say that the material used here is top notch, because it has plenty of sewings on the upper. Three adidas stripes on the side are providing extra protection against overstraining.
The “Mirage Pack” we mentioned at the beginning was an extraordinarily beautiful collection. We fell in love with immediately and this one makes us feel similarly. It has a bit eccentric design, definitely different from all the standard solutions we know. White is the leading colour, with red and green stripes on the side. The composition is absolutely stunning and we are so pleased to be getting such treats from adidas so often.
More black cleats and more leaks of Hypervenom is what you can expect in this article. There have been so many of those recently, that we can’t even attach links to all of them, because they would take irrationally much space. Not to mention that every true cleats-freak should already be well acquainted with them!
We’re not going to shock you this time, because these are not too trendy colourways and we showed them both before on different models. Black-blue Phantom III’ cheaper brother Phatal III appeared before in THIS article and the other, brighter, most likely female colourway was seen on Veloce III. Those who look for less expensive models on TEPY.PL should be satisfied.
In the past few weeks we have seen a lot of leaks of the Hypervenom’s third generation, but we’re still waiting for a special colourway made for Robert Lewandowski after he became the face of the line. We’ve been waiting since January, or even December when you count since Neymar switched to Vapor, so we think it won’t be much longer. Unfortunately, it’s not likely that we’ll see any leaks beforehand, because Nike keeps such projects in even greater secret than their already-secret normal cleats.
Our favourite subject is the nonexistent: last week we showed you prototypes of X 16+ Purechaos, some blackouts of what looked like another generation of Ace (18) and today we have something even more special. But honestly, we have absolutely no idea what that is :)
These are two elements of a shoe, which must be a completely new model, because it doesn’t look like a continuation of any of the current generations. It can be anything! We have seen this sole before, a minimalistic construction with something like black polystyrene foam known from boots visible under the synthetic mesh.
And there is also the heel! The material of the upper seems to be the one used for “Primeknit” editions of X and Ace 15. The heel counter is external, is very tall and looks really well. The mystery connected with the shoe is magnified by the dark colour and already makes us excited about the final product.
In the previous article we wrote about white-blue X17 and mentioned another collection, which we believe will be released in April or May. It will consist of white/black cleats and we’re glad to present some examples now.
This is Ace 17.1 Leather, an unusual model, released not only later than usual, but also in a smaller set of uppers and quality levels. adias was always the leader in this subject, but this is a big bloop.
Nevertheless, Ace 17.1 is still a very interesting product, even if we’re not always the greatest fans of its looks. In terms of black/white cleats, the ones made for Podolski (CLICK) were much more interesting.
Our last article covered Nike Magista Opus II which is meant to be released soon. This time we’ll write about the same model, but a different colourway, scheduled for more distant future. We have showed this colourway on other models before, you can see them HERE and HERE.
As we stated earlier, Opus II will now use a different kind of upper. This is not an obvious modification, so a person less familiar with the subject could miss it entirely, but we did notice it and find it a visual improvement. It has a lot of potential!
The publication of this article is well coerced with the one on white/lime collection, but the date of premiere itself is much different. This colourway will be launched along new Tiempo Legend VIII, which won’t happen before summer.
One of the last leaks concerning new models was the one on Nike Premier in a refreshed, second generation. The word “refresh” seems very suitable, because this is not going to be a revolution, but a slow evolution. And, as we wrote in THIS article on a classical black-white colourway, a very decent one as well. And that’s not the end of the story!
Nike intends to release this model in Anti-Clog version, which means a mix sole that won’t collect as much mud as normal ones. This is quite unexpected, but a very pleasant one too. With the changed sole come some slight modifications in the colourway – a white swoosh will give way to a yellow one.
Two approaches are combined in this shoe. On one hand, AC is a top notch, modern technology, which costs more that standard versions. On the other, Premier is one of the less important models, a professional one, but far less popular that the four flagships. Should we expect that to be changed? Or is this just an one-timer made to celebrate the new Premier?
Leaks of X17 are more and more common and so it’s no surprise that today we’re going to show you another one. It’s not a new colourway, you have seen it before HERE, but there’s nothing wrong with taking another look at it, is there?
A date of premiere remains a big unknown. Every time adidas launched a new colourway, they did so at the beginning of June. That leaves us with two more months to go, and another colourway, Turbocharge, is almost ready for shops. Can we expect a faster release?
In theory that could be possible, but the reality will probably be different. There is going to be one more collection, black and white, which will most likely include X16, though we haven’t seen the right leaks yet. We’ll show some more pictures of it in another article. We think there may also be a limited one, as a goodbye to the generation. All in all, quite a lot of leaks to be waiting for.
As you know from the recent spotting, the new Nike collection is almost upon us. Footballers such as Neymar and Totti were seen testing the new colourway. Among other new boots is Magista, pictures of which we showed before. The most curious model from this line is, surprisingly, not the beautiful Obra II, but Opus.
Do you remember how the upper of Hypervenom Phinish was changed in the middle of the generation’s lifetime? This is a similar case: the upper of Magista Opus in Motion Blur pack will be different from the dotted-ones used before. Now it’s going to look more like the one from Obra II.
The question is, will this upper really be constructed similarly, with fly-wire covered with NIkeskin, or will it be more synthetic, like in MagistaX Finale. Or perhaps we should expect something else entirely? We shall see soon enough.
If you want to see unreleased cleats, leaks on our website are one way. Another is paying close attention to footballers. Recently both on club and national team’s trainings we saw shoes like no other. That means that another collection prepared by the American concern is almost ready to be released!
The first one to surprise us was Neymar, whose cleats you might have already seen on his fanpage or our TEPY spotting site, where we put such discoveries. Playing with his friends from Canarinhos he was wearing Vapor XI, which we showed before HERE.
Another interesting discovery comes from Rome, where Francesco Totti, known for his interesting cleats’ choices was seen wearing Tiempo Legend in a colourway from the next white-green pack. As always, this footballer uses cleats with an unusual tongue.
We think there are more examples of Motion Blur pack in action, which we have missed. Do you have any pictures? Post them on TEPYspotting!
Lukas Podolski was always known for using most original shoes on a pitch, such as F50 Tunit made especially for him – as if standard modifiable version of this shoe wasn’t cool enough. But we in the redaction of TEPY.PL are even fonder of another model made for him, a serial colourway of adizero II with lots of modifications added. We bought them on a charity auction. Today, we have another reason to talk about “Poldi” and his cleats.
Last weekend was full of news and curiosities and one of them was this footballer’s 130th and the last match played for Germany’s national team. There are many players in the world, so we don’t celebrate all of their special matches, but this particular athlete and this particular team are so important that it’s almost impossible to miss this event. adidas didn’t miss it either, which is not surprising, given that they are a German company. They created a special Ace 17.1 colourway for Podolski, just like it was done years ago for Beckham.
Surprisingly, in the match against England Podolski was at first wearing standard Blue Blast colourway and only later he changed into the personalised version, so that the moment when he left the pitch wearing them could be registered on cameras. Maybe adidas wasn’t able to prepare them to the conditions on the pitch?
Personalisation comes in form of the black back of the shoe, German flag on the stripes, the date of Podolski’s number and the date of his last match in representation. He will continue playing for his club, but we’ll probably see less and less of him, until his very final match, which will surely be celebrated as well with some unusual cleats.
At the beginning of 2016 we’ve seen a lot of leaks of the next adidas generation, just as we do now. We were interested in every single detail we could spot, because there were so many differences between X15 and X16. As you may remember, on the uppers of the black prototypes there were “V” signings, sometimes accompanied by a number. Today, our best guess is that these were versions of the shoe being tested, one of them returning to us today.
Cleats in the picture are obviously X 16+ Purechaos, completely black and without any extra visual treats, but still remarkably good quality. When testing prototypes, the only thing you care about is their flair. Have you noticed anything interesting about this one? It has a much lower front part than the regular one. Maybe a different material was used here, which was thinner and allowed toes to fit the shoe better, but which turned out to be inadequate in holding a foot in a right position.
Prototypes are always some of our favourite subjects – so often they turn out to be completely different from the final versions. As people who care most of all about quality we often wonder, how would we feel playing in these boots, with different uppers or soles. Isn’t it just fascinating? Which version do you like more? The regular Purechaos or this test version?
Recently there’s been a lot of speculating about adidas’ schedule of premieres. We thought, that the green Turbocharge collection is the last one we’ll see before the next leak, X 17, comes to life. We also thought that Camouflage Pack would be released in April or May, but the German producer surprised us once again and launched it in March.
This leak will hopefully sort things out a little. Adidas plans to release this collection, Champagne Pack, of which you might have already seen Ace, Copa and a remake of a legendary Predator Mania. Until now, we were still missing X 16, which you can see today in 16+ Purechaos version. Adidas uses holes from the “seventeen” here, but this model will be released before the next generation, so most likely in April
Nowadays, the most desired models are the ones used by many world-class footballers. Boots with a collar made by Nike are generally more popular than the ones without it. And in the shade of all those shoes remain some other models, such as Mundial Team, well known to all the older football fans. adidas decided to remind us about this boot and release three limited colourways for this traditional-modern model.
One of the boot’s most important features is a leather upper, which guarantees unbelievable comfort and feeling of a ball. In the front part there are some shammy elements, which provide extra protection. The TF sole has been made with a EVA midsole and allows better traction on artificial grass. Enough about the construction, let’s discuss the colourway!
The one we like most is white, though the black one lost by only by inches. It’s official name is white/gold metallic. You all know how much we love whiteouts and blackouts, so it won’t be a surprise when we say that this design fits our tastes perfectly. This is not footwear, this is pure art. A fantastic leather upper in white, what more could we ask for?
The next one on our list is black/gold metallic. Again: we are fond of blackouts, even more so when they are made for such good shoes. Gold bits make things even better, make us feel that this boot is elegant, dignified and special.
We close the list with grey/mid grey/gold metallic. It’s not a bad design, but compared with the previous two we can’t really say it caught our attention. Still, this gray colour can’t be considered a bad choice either.
Every now and again Nike releases black cleats and not surprisingly, it’s usually Mercurial that stays in our heads the longest. Just think about Vapor IX released in two versions of an upper and even older Vapor IV E8. In this case black is disturbed by gray stripes running across the shoe – we wonder if they will be visible on a pitch at all, or will this shoe just look like a completely black model with a white logo.
If you find this sole weird, you’re right to do so. This is a relatively rare AG version, so it may not be obvious what we’re dealing with. Both AG and black colour are rather rare, but that doesn’t mean that they are any less interesting, especially in case of Vapor. Plenty of footballers use only black cleats.
In one of the previous articles we showed you leather X 16.1 from Turbocharge Pack, a brand new green adidas collection. We mention it for a reason, because back when we wrote this article we knew, that we would also present leather version of it at some point. adidas has a long history of using alternative materials, usually every model can be bought in edition we find most suitable. They started this approach with F50 and continue in X and Ace.
In the photos you can see parts of X 17.1, the next generation in leather version. The front of the shoe is the same as in Ace 17.1 and follows the pattern created for adiPure 11Pro III (or in Legend VI, when we consider Nike’s shoes). The leather is not layered on special foam, but on synthetic base, which unfortunately robs us of some of the materials good features. So, if you prefer the old solution, this may be one of the last chances to buy X before the new generation hits!
We have written so much about another colourway for Cristiano Ronaldo already, and yet even now, just days before premiere, we can mention something important, which was not reported in any of our articles. We think it will be a reason to be joyful for many people and will open create new possibilities to anyone interested in buying.
The last colourway made for Ronaldo added an important feature to a Victory model available in that edition – a DF version. This model is currently the cheapest boot with collar, which is obviously very popular. Above you can see indoors, not MercurialX Proximo, as you might have thought at first. Nike decided to release an alternative version of this boot and intends to do it in this edition made for the famous Portuguese. Are you interested?
Recently we’ve been talking a lot about Nike’s boots, most of them being cleats, but not all. Today we’d like to focus on this other group and present a leak of an upcoming colourway for the most popular model of indoors offered by the American company. Nike MercurialX Proximo which you can see is most likely a solo composition, that won’t be accompanied by its friends from the NikefootballX series.
Sometimes a composition made for indoors is a cousin of the one made for cleats, as it was in case of THIS composition made for NikefootballX. But this is not the case, because so far we have seen nothing indicating that there may be something like this on the horizon, and we are quite well acquainted with Nike’s schedule for the nearest future. But let’s talk more about the shoe itself! Or, more specifically, about the colourway, because you are probably familiar with the construction of this model by now.
What a beautiful design this is! The colours – different shades of red – seem to be shouting “spring” loud and clear. A gradient has been used, so that the front of the shoe was brighter that the dark heel, which makes a really good impression. This beautiful, strong red is accompanied by white on the sole and the border of a swoosh. In general, this is most definitely a splendid colourway.
This design should be available toward the end of the month, so you can already stars collecting money for it!
One of the prettiest shoes we presented this week was green adidas X 17+ Purechaos, which you can see HERE. Another generation of X makes everyone very emotional, even though we already know it’s going to be almost exactly the same as the current version. As we said before, we are still not sure what the launch colourway will look like and yellow is not the only possible colour here.
Once again we’d like to show you white-blue version of an upcoming (rather quickly!) model of the German brand. It’s not a premium level, but normal 17, which is still a professional shoe.
So far we’ve only heard of these two colourways made for X17 and we like them both. It seems like adidas understands, that if they don’t change much in the construction of the boot, they have to make it look more fresh and desirable than usually. And with these two they are doing it really well! Let’s see what else they have in store!
The competition on the cleat’s market has recently been incredibly harsh. The main cause of it is adidas and their Copa 17, finally a successful “modern classic”. Nike follows them on the leather path not only with Legend VII and new releases of Tech Craft, but also new Premier.
It’s the most classical boot imaginable, which used to get some really interesting colourways, even though it never really resigned from traditional blacks. This version is produced almost non-stop to fill the empty space that was left on Nike’s shelf in place where adidas has Copa Mundial and Puma has King.
Apparently, Nike has no intention of changing the shoe too much – and that’s very good, for more modifications they can use Tiempo. The obvious difference is adding a tongue, which seems to be a good idea, it will surely be appreciated by all the fans of the old-fashioned shoes.
From more technical stuff, sewing on the upper is also different – the stitching now runs not only along, but also across the upper, which is definitely an improvement. It will provide better stability and feeling of a ball; a small detail which can change so much.
That’s all the changes we can see, but we can only speculate about the leather. So far we’d say that it’s the same one as before, but we can’t be one hundred percent sure about that yet. Either way, we can’t think of any obvious cons of the previous material, so we don’t think using a different one is really necessary. That would also mean a big step forward in technology, which is not a purpose of this shoe.
Looking at all the cleats from adidas’ X line, especially the current generation, we are not overwhelmed with the number of possibilities. We’ve been showing you many compositions for months and the furthest we got was green “Turbocharge” for the “sixteenth” generation. That’s rather surprising, because adidas usually releases their boots sometime about the Champions League finale.
Today we have something really special for you, cleats that can fill in the huge gap of the upcoming months, for now only as something to think about, and later certainly as something to play in. X16 was and still is a huge success of adidas, but after a year since its premiere the time has come for the successor to step forward. We don’t expect to see any drastic changes between these two generations, because the old one was incredibly well received and so far, these suspicions were confirmed in THIS and THIS leak.
It’s easy to guess that THIS will be the launch colourway for NEMEZIZ, but we are completely clueless as of what the one for X should look like. It could be the stunning green one, given that green is very popular and in such case the ending of the old edition and beginning of the new one would be held in similar shades. In the pictures you can see the top model, 17+ Purechaos.
And isn’t it simply thrilling? The synthetic material, which was always covered with pits that looked made by claws, now has something like small holes or insets on it. The shape of the shoe or some details in its construction might have been altered a bit, but we can’t really be sure when looking at this version, which has its laces covered. We’re so glad that the feature typical for earlier models of X16, the shiny sole, is once again a part of the design.
Because of the success of the previous generation, X17 is most likely going to be a hot model as well, especially when it’s being introduced not even a full year after the previous one. That’s why this time we’re willing to not moan too loudly about adidas copying its own model. Let’s just hope that future colourways made for it will be as breathtaking as this one.
We got really turned on by the green cleats made by adidas, which are the hottest topic in business right now and probably the last ones made for this generation. We mentioned them in THIS article about X 17+ Purechaos. But do you remember, that this great composition will also be released in a leather version?
And it’s so much different from its synthetic brother! Apparently there was no way to make create leather in such deep green, or maybe adidas simply wanted to make this one a bit different, because this upper is mostly white and green is only used as an addition. It looks a bit like F50 adizero from Hunt collection. And that model was eventually coloured differently than its samples – that’s something to think about!
Do you remember Puma’s cleats from “Derby Fever” series? We showed you cleats from this pack made for Griezmann, Cazorla, Fabregas and some others. Apparently, Nike decided to follow the German company’s footsteps and release two compositions for Legend VI, inspired by derby matches played worldwide against teams which have blue or red as their colours.
Such matches are e.g. derby Liverpool vs. Everton, Arsenal vs. Chelsea and AC Milan vs. Inter. But teams aside, the very cleats are already a kind of “battlefield”, because red and blue opposing colours and fighting each other seems to be a part of their nature.
As we stated earlier, two colourways will be released. The first one is black with red accents on the laces and the border of a white swoosh. This composition seems very decent, the red bits perfectly accentuate the spirit of this model.
The other composition it identical, except the red elements were replaced with blue ones. We find this one just as good and can’t say one bad thing about it. These shoes are a classic solution but they manage to add some modern bits as well. They are not something absolutely outstanding, but sill really pretty, especially for traditional boots.
Recently we mentioned on our site about a new colourway made for New Balance’s Audazo. We liked it a lot, so we were really happy to find out that two more colourways had been released, this time for IN and TF versions of the shoe.
The first one is green/covert green and, as you can judge from the name, the leading colour is green just like in the previous design. This one, however, is much darker and reminds us a bit of Nike’s Camo collection. On the outer side there is a white New Balance logo, on the inner – a black one. This composition is less extravagant, but still rather decent.
The other one is black/alpha orange and it’s definitely the one we like the least of all three. There’s a bit of black on the upper, a bit of orange on the sole and lining; all in all nothing special. For us, it’s simply ugly.
You saw this colourway last week, when we presented it on a lower quality model from Mercurial series, Veloce III – the cheaper boot with a sock. Today we can feel more pro, as we’re showing you this Vapor XI in the same composition.
To remind you, this is a leak of a women’s colourway, expected to be launched in the second quarter of 2017. We admit that we’re mostly guessing here, but the date seems reasonable, as Nike releases female colourways once a quarter.
We always admire the designs made for ladies, but this one is a bit disappointing. They are pretty, fine, but not really breathtaking. Nike has set the bar really high for themselves, so now we’re simply not easily satisfied.
When we last mentioned NikefootballX, we did so in the context of an upcoming collection inspired by Air Max. Before that, we wrote a few articles about white cleats with colourful accents, the most memorable of which was a splendid Magista Obra II. Today, we’d like to continue that topic.
MagistaX Finale is a shoe that has a special place in our hearts now, because (as you know if you’re following Zaki’s fanpage – CLICK) Zaki was given by Nike one pair from the most recent Radiation Flare pack. First tests showed that, as expected, the shoe is indeed very well made. And pretty as well! Both orange cleats and these indoors are absolutely amazing.
But with that said, we must admit that we like the white collection even more. It’s a perfect mix of colours on a beautifully shaped boot. When can we expect the premiere? It’s really hard to say, but we’d dare guessing that in early May.
We’ve been writing a lot about a green adidas collection, but you may have noticed, that we only mentioned it in the context of X and Ace (if you haven’t, pay attention now!). Our regular readers know, that Messi connected with this pack will be gold (even if it won’t be actually a part of the set, it will be released in the same time). You can check it out HERE.
But what about Copa17? We can’t forget about the new series, since it has become an outright, quality member of the family, sometimes being worth more that Ace 17.1 Primeknit. And we didn’t omit this model on purpose, we simply didn’t have any photos of it until now.
The presented black-gold colourway is made for Copa 17 and is much different from X and Ace, resembling a little only Messi. This is definitely a position made for everyone who likes classical boots.
There was a time, when we’d present plenty of New Balance’s cleats but recently their colourways have been becoming less and less interesting. We also mentioned their ugliest cleats ever made HERE, you can see yourself the monster that the American company created. But today we won’t discuss the cleats, but the IN boots, because New Balance has just released a new composition for Audazo.
Its upper is made of leather, hardened with rough material used in many models. On the side, the material makes way for mesh, which allows breathing and removing moisture from the shoe. A sole with RavLite technology was used here to provide better comfort and stability. A Pro Bank solution also found its place in the construction, so that the boot had the very best traction possible.
Visually it’s a beautiful shoe. New Balance rarely surprises us with garish, vivid colours, such as those shades of gray on this upper, complemented by some yellows. Every here and there yellow seems to be coming from underneath the green, which creates a fascinating effect. To top up, some black and white elements have been added.
Some time ago Umbro released a new collection of their cleats, which you can see HERE. But that’s not the end of the story, because the British company has just released another colourway for Velocita. We must say that the speed of creating new designs by this company is really impressive, even though they are facing a certain kind of stagnation as well (you can find out more about it HERE).
Today we’d like to discuss the Velocita model, which was created as a way of honouring footballers and employees of the Chapecoense club who died last year in a plane catastrophe. They were travelling to Bolivia for a match against Atletico Nacional in Sudamerica Cup finale.
The main idea behind the boot is not only paying tribute to the victims but also helping raise money to help the club. A few days ago an entire auction took place where one of the items on sale was this incredible pair of cleats. The design was created in cooperation with Graffia Studio and is inspired by the clubs colours. On the side there are team’s logos and a black stripe runs across the upper. The sole is gold and the entire composition is improved with white details and orange lining. The result is really pretty. Only one pair of such special boots exists in the whole world.
It’s really good to see a company connected with football participating in such events which aim to help people. It’s a big plus for Umbro.
Do you remember an unusual adidas model Copa Gloro 17.2? We wrote everything you need to know about it in THIS article. Short version: it’s a mix of two other models, Copa and Gloro. Today we’re pleased to show you another colourway made of this boot.
Let’s talk about what we see! The official composition name is black/red. It seems strangely familiar, though we can’t exactly remember where. The design is as minimalistic as you can expect of a classical shoe, so most of the upper is black. To add some spirit, splashes of strong red were added here and there, which creates a splendid effect. This colourway, with its contrast of a deep black and a more intense shade, is definitely a success.
The idea of joining two models was indeed very interesting and we’re very curious, how will this child of the German brands develop.
A few days ago we showed you three compositions made for King MII. But Puma doesn’t slow down for a moment and already has something new to share with us all. The German brand wants to honour this historic model best as they can, before shutting it down finally.
In the colourways we presented earlier extravagance was the leading thread, but in this case it gave way to elegance and pure class. The first of two colourways is black and reminds us of THIS one. It may not fit everyone’s tastes, because not many people are this fond of classical designs. But in our opinion this is an actual artwork. Chrome elements added to the black upper create a hypnotising effect and make the boot so special. We love chrome and enjoy all those rare compositions where it’s used for the upper, making the whole shoe look amazing.
The second colourway is white and we find it equally beautiful, maybe even a bit more than the previous one. Here, the chrome effect and white upper cooperate together just as well as Messi and Suarez on a pitch :) It looks dignified and proud. We adore whiteouts and we adore chrome – what more can we ask for? We like garish colours, but in this case we wouldn’t change a thing and simply appreciate the calmness and harmony. Well done Puma!
Surely you remember how we presented you many cleats made by Puma for their stars playing in club derby. This model is also a part of the “Derby Fever” collection, and is dedicated to Marco Reus. The German footballer will wear them in a match against Schalke in a month’s time. These most original matches are called “Revierderby”.
This model is evoSPEED SL, its construction has not been altered in any way. The design is inspired by Reus’ club colours, black and yellow, each one taking covering one half of the shoe – the front is yellow, the back is black. On the hell there are some interesting patterns which look like hand gestures – nice addition to the design. Next to it there is a yellow circle with a black “Derby Fever” signing and another text “Revierderby” has been put under the laces. All in all, it’s a really nice colourway.
It will be released towards the end of March in limited quantity, which will surely make it an even greater treat for Marco Reus’ and Borussia Dortmund’s fans.
Summer will be a good season for Mercurial. A lot of brilliant colourways have already been leaked, but some of them Nike still keeps in secret. One of the new surprises has just arrived on a horizon and you can see it here, on Veloce DF.
This shoe is unusual for several reasons – the most obvious one is the heel, which is not dark as in most editions, but much brighter. In most cases it’s more practical to use brighter shades for collar and darker for lower parts of the shoe, because you can’t see so much dirt on darker colours and Flyknit is really hard to clean. But now that summer is almost here, there won’t be so much mud on pitches, so this colourway won’t end up being a messy nightmare. Releasing such compositions always takes a lot of planning, just as in case of blue Mercurial for Neymar (CLICK).
We are very fond of this design for new Nike cleats – it’s one of the “old” patterns, so we expect to see it before the yellow collection, which we have shown HERE and HERE. This colourway seems to be related to the female Mercurial which we described in detail in THIS article. The main colour is a bit similar, so we wouldn’t be surprised to see them both released simultaneously. All in all – a very nice colourway. It reminds us of one of the compositions made for our beloved Vapor II.
At the beginning of 2017 Under Armour presented another generation of ClutchFit model in two colourways: a black and a white one. Now, the American company announced another composition for ClutchFit 3.0.
The colourway is called “Neon Coral” and may seem familiar, because we have showed it before on indoors (take a look at it HERE). It is absolutely stunning! We simply can’t stop staring at it. It’s really different from the second, white composition, with this simple design and garish colours.
Beautiful red accompanied by white bits create a perfect duo. White UA logo is also covered with little red dots, which create a safari effect, while the border of the upper is has some white ones on it. This design is incredible and we’d like to honestly thank Under Armour for creating something this pretty.
This model is already available in shops. The first person to use it was Southampton’s goalkeeper, Fraser Forster, who played in them during the finale of EFL cup against Manchester United.
Not so long ago, adidas surprised us and released a new collection, CAMO . This is an impressive pace! And another one is already coming our way – a new composition for Ace 17+ Purecontrol. This is a situation similar to Nike and their Phantom III “Strike Night” – a design made for special occasions and released out of the blue.
This model’s construction is not different from all the serial ones, so we’ll not discuss it in detail here. Instead we’ll say, that this black/shock pink composition completely stole our hearts. We still didn’t get over “Grey Camo” and adidas is already giving us another brilliant colourway. The colours are chosen perfectly, especially that the black upper with pink accents is covered with glittering patterns, which make it even more interesting. This is a lovely clash of black dignity and calmness with craziness represented by pink. Simple and well thought – that’s what we like in cleats!
We wish some world class footballers would use this colourway, but it’s not likely, given that this is one of the side editions, just like the already mentioned Hypervenom III “Strike Night”. A nice addition, but not something that shapes the company’s landscape, especially that it’s released only in limited quantity.
Don’t think we’ll only now discuss the lower quality models! We show you everything we find interesting, no matter the price. Even more so, because many of you may be more interested in the cheaper models than in Obra and Superfly. This yellow collection visited our website many times before; HERE you can see Superfly V and Phatal III.
This is definitely one of the most interesting collections Nike has prepared for the next few months. It’s been a while since we last saw yellow cleats, especially on all four models at the same time. There are some changes in the design such as the NIKE signing on the inner part of the upper of Superfly, or stripes running across the upper in this model. They look really well and fresh and fit the colour perfectly.
There is one thing we mentioned earlier, which now makes us a bit confused: we said that the new Tiempo Legend will be released with a black collection, where its additional colour will most likely be yellow. But what if the seventh generation will be released now, with this yellow pack? That would be interesting. We’ll have to wait and see.
As you have probably heard, Nike is about to release a black collection of their cleats (or rather mostly black, because each model will use one additional colour as well). We have already seen Tiempo Legend, Superfly (HERE) and Hypervnom (HERE).
NikefootballX is a series of indoors and turfs, the most important of them being always the two top levels: Proximo (with a collar) and Finale. Sometimes these shoes are released in colourways matching the ones used for cleats, sometimes not. Today we have a leak for you, which shows MagistaX Proxio that could be related to the cleats that come out at the same time.
If Magista will indeed use greens, that means we have a complete set now! It’s a pity that NFX will match the cleats’ colours, because this black is really exciting. Obviously, the greatest star of this release will be the new model, Legend VII, and no one will pay much attention to all the other shoes. But we definitely prefer situations, where all the shoes look great, not just the new ones. We think Radiation Flare was a perfect example of such a set.
The most popular model in Mizuno’s offer is definitely Morelia Neo, which shouldn’t be surprising to anyone, because its quality has always been impressive. But today we’d like to focus on a less known model designed by the Japanese company: the recently released second generation of Monarcida. We can think of it as of a Moreila Neo’s cheaper brother. This line consists of two models: Mizuno Monarcida Neo II and Mizuno Monarcida II. Today’s model is one of “made in Japan” boots, which means it has letters JP added to its name.
If you follow our articles you probably remember another article on Monarcida, you can take a look at it HERE. We’ll start with Mizuno Monarcida Neo II JP, which we see here in two colourways. The front part of the upper is, as always, made of top quality kangaroo skin, the rest of it is synthetic. The sole has been much improved since the previous generation and now we have a lighter, more elastic and resistant PEBAX material used instead of the old TPU. The shoe weights 200 grams.
The first presented colourway is black/white/flash orange. It’s not bad, but we wouldn’t call it a hit either. We like the idea of using a gradient, though its quality leaves a bit to be desired. We can’t even tell which colour is actually the dominating one, because black and red seem to be used in the same amounts, not to mention that some white also appears here.
The other design is white pearl/black/yellow and unfortunately we like this one even less. We’re slowly getting used to Mizuno’s boring, unoriginal colourways. We can’t say one good thing about this composition, it’s simply ugly. The gradient is once again poorly made and the mix of yellow and white wasn’t really the best idea.
Mizuno Monarcida II JP, the second model we’d like to present, also has a kangaroo skin in the front of the upper, which sticks with a foot perfectly and is incredibly comfortable. The sole is identical to the one from Mizuno Morelia II: 13 round TPU studs which provide elasticity and excellent traction. This model is a bit heavier than the other one, its weight being 235 grams.
Just like Mizuno Monarcida Neo II, this one got two colourways at the same time. The first one is blue/white/silver and seems strangely familiar. Once again Mizuno insists on copying old ideas and colour mixes. The leading shade is blue, white accents are visible here and there as well.
The second colourway is white/red/black. It’s really, really bad. No innovations, a lot of boredom instead. This set of colours can be used for making many exciting designs, but what we see here seems to be a waste of good mix. White is the leading colour, some red is visible on the tongue, logo, heel and sole’s border. Our general opinion is once again rather negative.
Recently we have observed once again, how popular Mercurial series is and how no other model can compete with it – we can see it clearly in the statistics of our articles, where all the texts on Mercurial have really plenty of views. Today we can once again boost our stats, because we have a lovely leak of one of the future compositions and some additional info.
What’s interesting, this is the design which used to be the one most used till the end of the last year. The upper is mostly light blue (?) and is covered with a pattern which shows all the unevenness’s of the shoe. We’d like to recommend reading a whole review of the top model, Superfly V, HERE, so that you can find out more about the importance of these stripes. Unlike the one in Radiation Flare pack, this model is not in one even colour. Instead, a gradient has been used and heel and collar are black.
In the pictures you can see not Superfly, but Veloce, a cheaper version with Dynamic Fit collar. And this time we are certain from the very beginning, that this is a female colourway. So, ladies, how do you like it?
We’ve been talking a lot recently about a special edition of Mercurial prepared for Cristiano Ronaldo, which will hopefully be officially presented quite soon. But let’s not forget, that another player will be given his own model as well. This won’t be the first time Neymar will get his own edition, but it will be the first time he’ll be given Mercurial, a model he used back in Santos, before he switched to Hypervenom.
You’ve seen many leaks of these cleats so you know what to expect from its colours. In the last article we mentioned, that the eleventh generation of Vapor will celebrate eleven of the Brazilian’s goals. On the upper there are geographical coordinates of the cities in which we scored them and the route he took when aiming – dribbles most likely.
In this article we decided to, unusually, show you not the top model, but the cheapest one in a sock version: Victory DF. Just as you, we’re really excited about this special Neymar release but we feel like we have to remind you, that collars are indeed cool additions to shoes, but they should not be the most important features. The most important thing is the general quality!
There is a sole, which many professional footballers still use, even though it was introduced over ten years ago. At first it was made for Nike’s Total90, a boot which most of you are probably too young to remember. And since then it continuously appears occasionally in other models used by players such as Torres, Puyol and others.
Arda Turan, known for using modified versions for shoes, has just joined this group of footballers. If you are not aware of that, let us explain, that the big stars can ask for making some upgrades and changes in their shoes, because companies make them especially from them anyway. Above you can see one of the previous colourways of Nike Magista Opus made for Arda. We must admit that this sole fits the design perfectly!
The history of leaks of the current generation of Ace is really interesting, especially of our favourite model – Purecontrol. There were many prototypes which eventually never saw the sunlight, but now it seems that some of them were merely put on hold, not terminated.
After a few months since the premiere of Ace 17, we start to think about the next release. We’d like to show one of the leaks which may be connected with Ace 18+ Purecontrol. There are many differences between this boot and the model available in shops: the upper is not similar at all, the sole seems lighter and it has something like BOOST technology visible on the heel. The stretchy part is also something new, and it could make putting shoes on easier, as well as improve shooting. Looks promising for us!
In one of the recent articles we showed you black/white Superfly V and today we have another model from this collection. Unfortunately, this is not the top level of Hypervenom III, but one of the lower quality versions, Phatal III DF, which is definitely interesting for many of you.
Thanks to this leak we have found, that the earlier shown Superfly V is not a solo model, but a part of a collection and that the third complementary colour will be different for each model. For Mercurial it’s cherry, here it’s dark blue, we expect to see also dark green for Tiempo and for Magista... Yellow maybe?
Or maybe not – Nike intends to release a new generation of Tiempo, which we know will have a yellow launch colourway. That means’ that Magista is not likely to be yellow now, Tiempo will sor some time be the most important model.
