One of the prettiest shoes we presented this week was green adidas X 17+ Purechaos, which you can see HERE. Another generation of X makes everyone very emotional, even though we already know it’s going to be almost exactly the same as the current version. As we said before, we are still not sure what the launch colourway will look like and yellow is not the only possible colour here.
Once again we’d like to show you white-blue version of an upcoming (rather quickly!) model of the German brand. It’s not a premium level, but normal 17, which is still a professional shoe.
So far we’ve only heard of these two colourways made for X17 and we like them both. It seems like adidas understands, that if they don’t change much in the construction of the boot, they have to make it look more fresh and desirable than usually. And with these two they are doing it really well! Let’s see what else they have in store!
The competition on the cleat’s market has recently been incredibly harsh. The main cause of it is adidas and their Copa 17, finally a successful “modern classic”. Nike follows them on the leather path not only with Legend VII and new releases of Tech Craft, but also new Premier.
It’s the most classical boot imaginable, which used to get some really interesting colourways, even though it never really resigned from traditional blacks. This version is produced almost non-stop to fill the empty space that was left on Nike’s shelf in place where adidas has Copa Mundial and Puma has King.
Apparently, Nike has no intention of changing the shoe too much – and that’s very good, for more modifications they can use Tiempo. The obvious difference is adding a tongue, which seems to be a good idea, it will surely be appreciated by all the fans of the old-fashioned shoes.
From more technical stuff, sewing on the upper is also different – the stitching now runs not only along, but also across the upper, which is definitely an improvement. It will provide better stability and feeling of a ball; a small detail which can change so much.
That’s all the changes we can see, but we can only speculate about the leather. So far we’d say that it’s the same one as before, but we can’t be one hundred percent sure about that yet. Either way, we can’t think of any obvious cons of the previous material, so we don’t think using a different one is really necessary. That would also mean a big step forward in technology, which is not a purpose of this shoe.
Looking at all the cleats from adidas’ X line, especially the current generation, we are not overwhelmed with the number of possibilities. We’ve been showing you many compositions for months and the furthest we got was green “Turbocharge” for the “sixteenth” generation. That’s rather surprising, because adidas usually releases their boots sometime about the Champions League finale.
Today we have something really special for you, cleats that can fill in the huge gap of the upcoming months, for now only as something to think about, and later certainly as something to play in. X16 was and still is a huge success of adidas, but after a year since its premiere the time has come for the successor to step forward. We don’t expect to see any drastic changes between these two generations, because the old one was incredibly well received and so far, these suspicions were confirmed in THIS and THIS leak.
It’s easy to guess that THIS will be the launch colourway for NEMEZIZ, but we are completely clueless as of what the one for X should look like. It could be the stunning green one, given that green is very popular and in such case the ending of the old edition and beginning of the new one would be held in similar shades. In the pictures you can see the top model, 17+ Purechaos.
And isn’t it simply thrilling? The synthetic material, which was always covered with pits that looked made by claws, now has something like small holes or insets on it. The shape of the shoe or some details in its construction might have been altered a bit, but we can’t really be sure when looking at this version, which has its laces covered. We’re so glad that the feature typical for earlier models of X16, the shiny sole, is once again a part of the design.
Because of the success of the previous generation, X17 is most likely going to be a hot model as well, especially when it’s being introduced not even a full year after the previous one. That’s why this time we’re willing to not moan too loudly about adidas copying its own model. Let’s just hope that future colourways made for it will be as breathtaking as this one.
We got really turned on by the green cleats made by adidas, which are the hottest topic in business right now and probably the last ones made for this generation. We mentioned them in THIS article about X 17+ Purechaos. But do you remember, that this great composition will also be released in a leather version?
And it’s so much different from its synthetic brother! Apparently there was no way to make create leather in such deep green, or maybe adidas simply wanted to make this one a bit different, because this upper is mostly white and green is only used as an addition. It looks a bit like F50 adizero from Hunt collection. And that model was eventually coloured differently than its samples – that’s something to think about!
Do you remember Puma’s cleats from “Derby Fever” series? We showed you cleats from this pack made for Griezmann, Cazorla, Fabregas and some others. Apparently, Nike decided to follow the German company’s footsteps and release two compositions for Legend VI, inspired by derby matches played worldwide against teams which have blue or red as their colours.
Such matches are e.g. derby Liverpool vs. Everton, Arsenal vs. Chelsea and AC Milan vs. Inter. But teams aside, the very cleats are already a kind of “battlefield”, because red and blue opposing colours and fighting each other seems to be a part of their nature.
As we stated earlier, two colourways will be released. The first one is black with red accents on the laces and the border of a white swoosh. This composition seems very decent, the red bits perfectly accentuate the spirit of this model.
The other composition it identical, except the red elements were replaced with blue ones. We find this one just as good and can’t say one bad thing about it. These shoes are a classic solution but they manage to add some modern bits as well. They are not something absolutely outstanding, but sill really pretty, especially for traditional boots.
Recently we mentioned on our site about a new colourway made for New Balance’s Audazo. We liked it a lot, so we were really happy to find out that two more colourways had been released, this time for IN and TF versions of the shoe.
The first one is green/covert green and, as you can judge from the name, the leading colour is green just like in the previous design. This one, however, is much darker and reminds us a bit of Nike’s Camo collection. On the outer side there is a white New Balance logo, on the inner – a black one. This composition is less extravagant, but still rather decent.
The other one is black/alpha orange and it’s definitely the one we like the least of all three. There’s a bit of black on the upper, a bit of orange on the sole and lining; all in all nothing special. For us, it’s simply ugly.
There was a time, when we’d present plenty of New Balance’s cleats but recently their colourways have been becoming less and less interesting. We also mentioned their ugliest cleats ever made HERE, you can see yourself the monster that the American company created. But today we won’t discuss the cleats, but the IN boots, because New Balance has just released a new composition for Audazo.
Its upper is made of leather, hardened with rough material used in many models. On the side, the material makes way for mesh, which allows breathing and removing moisture from the shoe. A sole with RavLite technology was used here to provide better comfort and stability. A Pro Bank solution also found its place in the construction, so that the boot had the very best traction possible.
Visually it’s a beautiful shoe. New Balance rarely surprises us with garish, vivid colours, such as those shades of gray on this upper, complemented by some yellows. Every here and there yellow seems to be coming from underneath the green, which creates a fascinating effect. To top up, some black and white elements have been added.
Some time ago Umbro released a new collection of their cleats, which you can see HERE. But that’s not the end of the story, because the British company has just released another colourway for Velocita. We must say that the speed of creating new designs by this company is really impressive, even though they are facing a certain kind of stagnation as well (you can find out more about it HERE).
Today we’d like to discuss the Velocita model, which was created as a way of honouring footballers and employees of the Chapecoense club who died last year in a plane catastrophe. They were travelling to Bolivia for a match against Atletico Nacional in Sudamerica Cup finale.
The main idea behind the boot is not only paying tribute to the victims but also helping raise money to help the club. A few days ago an entire auction took place where one of the items on sale was this incredible pair of cleats. The design was created in cooperation with Graffia Studio and is inspired by the clubs colours. On the side there are team’s logos and a black stripe runs across the upper. The sole is gold and the entire composition is improved with white details and orange lining. The result is really pretty. Only one pair of such special boots exists in the whole world.
It’s really good to see a company connected with football participating in such events which aim to help people. It’s a big plus for Umbro.
Do you remember an unusual adidas model Copa Gloro 17.2? We wrote everything you need to know about it in THIS article. Short version: it’s a mix of two other models, Copa and Gloro. Today we’re pleased to show you another colourway made of this boot.
Let’s talk about what we see! The official composition name is black/red. It seems strangely familiar, though we can’t exactly remember where. The design is as minimalistic as you can expect of a classical shoe, so most of the upper is black. To add some spirit, splashes of strong red were added here and there, which creates a splendid effect. This colourway, with its contrast of a deep black and a more intense shade, is definitely a success.
The idea of joining two models was indeed very interesting and we’re very curious, how will this child of the German brands develop.
A few days ago we showed you three compositions made for King MII. But Puma doesn’t slow down for a moment and already has something new to share with us all. The German brand wants to honour this historic model best as they can, before shutting it down finally.
In the colourways we presented earlier extravagance was the leading thread, but in this case it gave way to elegance and pure class. The first of two colourways is black and reminds us of THIS one. It may not fit everyone’s tastes, because not many people are this fond of classical designs. But in our opinion this is an actual artwork. Chrome elements added to the black upper create a hypnotising effect and make the boot so special. We love chrome and enjoy all those rare compositions where it’s used for the upper, making the whole shoe look amazing.
The second colourway is white and we find it equally beautiful, maybe even a bit more than the previous one. Here, the chrome effect and white upper cooperate together just as well as Messi and Suarez on a pitch :) It looks dignified and proud. We adore whiteouts and we adore chrome – what more can we ask for? We like garish colours, but in this case we wouldn’t change a thing and simply appreciate the calmness and harmony. Well done Puma!
Surely you remember how we presented you many cleats made by Puma for their stars playing in club derby. This model is also a part of the “Derby Fever” collection, and is dedicated to Marco Reus. The German footballer will wear them in a match against Schalke in a month’s time. These most original matches are called “Revierderby”.
This model is evoSPEED SL, its construction has not been altered in any way. The design is inspired by Reus’ club colours, black and yellow, each one taking covering one half of the shoe – the front is yellow, the back is black. On the hell there are some interesting patterns which look like hand gestures – nice addition to the design. Next to it there is a yellow circle with a black “Derby Fever” signing and another text “Revierderby” has been put under the laces. All in all, it’s a really nice colourway.
It will be released towards the end of March in limited quantity, which will surely make it an even greater treat for Marco Reus’ and Borussia Dortmund’s fans.
Summer will be a good season for Mercurial. A lot of brilliant colourways have already been leaked, but some of them Nike still keeps in secret. One of the new surprises has just arrived on a horizon and you can see it here, on Veloce DF.
This shoe is unusual for several reasons – the most obvious one is the heel, which is not dark as in most editions, but much brighter. In most cases it’s more practical to use brighter shades for collar and darker for lower parts of the shoe, because you can’t see so much dirt on darker colours and Flyknit is really hard to clean. But now that summer is almost here, there won’t be so much mud on pitches, so this colourway won’t end up being a messy nightmare. Releasing such compositions always takes a lot of planning, just as in case of blue Mercurial for Neymar (CLICK).
We are very fond of this design for new Nike cleats – it’s one of the “old” patterns, so we expect to see it before the yellow collection, which we have shown HERE and HERE. This colourway seems to be related to the female Mercurial which we described in detail in THIS article. The main colour is a bit similar, so we wouldn’t be surprised to see them both released simultaneously. All in all – a very nice colourway. It reminds us of one of the compositions made for our beloved Vapor II.
At the beginning of 2017 Under Armour presented another generation of ClutchFit model in two colourways: a black and a white one. Now, the American company announced another composition for ClutchFit 3.0.
The colourway is called “Neon Coral” and may seem familiar, because we have showed it before on indoors (take a look at it HERE). It is absolutely stunning! We simply can’t stop staring at it. It’s really different from the second, white composition, with this simple design and garish colours.
Beautiful red accompanied by white bits create a perfect duo. White UA logo is also covered with little red dots, which create a safari effect, while the border of the upper is has some white ones on it. This design is incredible and we’d like to honestly thank Under Armour for creating something this pretty.
This model is already available in shops. The first person to use it was Southampton’s goalkeeper, Fraser Forster, who played in them during the finale of EFL cup against Manchester United.
Not so long ago, adidas surprised us and released a new collection, CAMO . This is an impressive pace! And another one is already coming our way – a new composition for Ace 17+ Purecontrol. This is a situation similar to Nike and their Phantom III “Strike Night” – a design made for special occasions and released out of the blue.
This model’s construction is not different from all the serial ones, so we’ll not discuss it in detail here. Instead we’ll say, that this black/shock pink composition completely stole our hearts. We still didn’t get over “Grey Camo” and adidas is already giving us another brilliant colourway. The colours are chosen perfectly, especially that the black upper with pink accents is covered with glittering patterns, which make it even more interesting. This is a lovely clash of black dignity and calmness with craziness represented by pink. Simple and well thought – that’s what we like in cleats!
We wish some world class footballers would use this colourway, but it’s not likely, given that this is one of the side editions, just like the already mentioned Hypervenom III “Strike Night”. A nice addition, but not something that shapes the company’s landscape, especially that it’s released only in limited quantity.
Don’t think we’ll only now discuss the lower quality models! We show you everything we find interesting, no matter the price. Even more so, because many of you may be more interested in the cheaper models than in Obra and Superfly. This yellow collection visited our website many times before; HERE you can see Superfly V and Phatal III.
This is definitely one of the most interesting collections Nike has prepared for the next few months. It’s been a while since we last saw yellow cleats, especially on all four models at the same time. There are some changes in the design such as the NIKE signing on the inner part of the upper of Superfly, or stripes running across the upper in this model. They look really well and fresh and fit the colour perfectly.
There is one thing we mentioned earlier, which now makes us a bit confused: we said that the new Tiempo Legend will be released with a black collection, where its additional colour will most likely be yellow. But what if the seventh generation will be released now, with this yellow pack? That would be interesting. We’ll have to wait and see.
As you have probably heard, Nike is about to release a black collection of their cleats (or rather mostly black, because each model will use one additional colour as well). We have already seen Tiempo Legend, Superfly (HERE) and Hypervnom (HERE).
NikefootballX is a series of indoors and turfs, the most important of them being always the two top levels: Proximo (with a collar) and Finale. Sometimes these shoes are released in colourways matching the ones used for cleats, sometimes not. Today we have a leak for you, which shows MagistaX Proxio that could be related to the cleats that come out at the same time.
If Magista will indeed use greens, that means we have a complete set now! It’s a pity that NFX will match the cleats’ colours, because this black is really exciting. Obviously, the greatest star of this release will be the new model, Legend VII, and no one will pay much attention to all the other shoes. But we definitely prefer situations, where all the shoes look great, not just the new ones. We think Radiation Flare was a perfect example of such a set.
The most popular model in Mizuno’s offer is definitely Morelia Neo, which shouldn’t be surprising to anyone, because its quality has always been impressive. But today we’d like to focus on a less known model designed by the Japanese company: the recently released second generation of Monarcida. We can think of it as of a Moreila Neo’s cheaper brother. This line consists of two models: Mizuno Monarcida Neo II and Mizuno Monarcida II. Today’s model is one of “made in Japan” boots, which means it has letters JP added to its name.
If you follow our articles you probably remember another article on Monarcida, you can take a look at it HERE. We’ll start with Mizuno Monarcida Neo II JP, which we see here in two colourways. The front part of the upper is, as always, made of top quality kangaroo skin, the rest of it is synthetic. The sole has been much improved since the previous generation and now we have a lighter, more elastic and resistant PEBAX material used instead of the old TPU. The shoe weights 200 grams.
The first presented colourway is black/white/flash orange. It’s not bad, but we wouldn’t call it a hit either. We like the idea of using a gradient, though its quality leaves a bit to be desired. We can’t even tell which colour is actually the dominating one, because black and red seem to be used in the same amounts, not to mention that some white also appears here.
The other design is white pearl/black/yellow and unfortunately we like this one even less. We’re slowly getting used to Mizuno’s boring, unoriginal colourways. We can’t say one good thing about this composition, it’s simply ugly. The gradient is once again poorly made and the mix of yellow and white wasn’t really the best idea.
Mizuno Monarcida II JP, the second model we’d like to present, also has a kangaroo skin in the front of the upper, which sticks with a foot perfectly and is incredibly comfortable. The sole is identical to the one from Mizuno Morelia II: 13 round TPU studs which provide elasticity and excellent traction. This model is a bit heavier than the other one, its weight being 235 grams.
Just like Mizuno Monarcida Neo II, this one got two colourways at the same time. The first one is blue/white/silver and seems strangely familiar. Once again Mizuno insists on copying old ideas and colour mixes. The leading shade is blue, white accents are visible here and there as well.
The second colourway is white/red/black. It’s really, really bad. No innovations, a lot of boredom instead. This set of colours can be used for making many exciting designs, but what we see here seems to be a waste of good mix. White is the leading colour, some red is visible on the tongue, logo, heel and sole’s border. Our general opinion is once again rather negative.
Recently we have observed once again, how popular Mercurial series is and how no other model can compete with it – we can see it clearly in the statistics of our articles, where all the texts on Mercurial have really plenty of views. Today we can once again boost our stats, because we have a lovely leak of one of the future compositions and some additional info.
What’s interesting, this is the design which used to be the one most used till the end of the last year. The upper is mostly light blue (?) and is covered with a pattern which shows all the unevenness’s of the shoe. We’d like to recommend reading a whole review of the top model, Superfly V, HERE, so that you can find out more about the importance of these stripes. Unlike the one in Radiation Flare pack, this model is not in one even colour. Instead, a gradient has been used and heel and collar are black.
In the pictures you can see not Superfly, but Veloce, a cheaper version with Dynamic Fit collar. And this time we are certain from the very beginning, that this is a female colourway. So, ladies, how do you like it?
We’ve been talking a lot recently about a special edition of Mercurial prepared for Cristiano Ronaldo, which will hopefully be officially presented quite soon. But let’s not forget, that another player will be given his own model as well. This won’t be the first time Neymar will get his own edition, but it will be the first time he’ll be given Mercurial, a model he used back in Santos, before he switched to Hypervenom.
You’ve seen many leaks of these cleats so you know what to expect from its colours. In the last article we mentioned, that the eleventh generation of Vapor will celebrate eleven of the Brazilian’s goals. On the upper there are geographical coordinates of the cities in which we scored them and the route he took when aiming – dribbles most likely.
In this article we decided to, unusually, show you not the top model, but the cheapest one in a sock version: Victory DF. Just as you, we’re really excited about this special Neymar release but we feel like we have to remind you, that collars are indeed cool additions to shoes, but they should not be the most important features. The most important thing is the general quality!
There is a sole, which many professional footballers still use, even though it was introduced over ten years ago. At first it was made for Nike’s Total90, a boot which most of you are probably too young to remember. And since then it continuously appears occasionally in other models used by players such as Torres, Puyol and others.
Arda Turan, known for using modified versions for shoes, has just joined this group of footballers. If you are not aware of that, let us explain, that the big stars can ask for making some upgrades and changes in their shoes, because companies make them especially from them anyway. Above you can see one of the previous colourways of Nike Magista Opus made for Arda. We must admit that this sole fits the design perfectly!
The history of leaks of the current generation of Ace is really interesting, especially of our favourite model – Purecontrol. There were many prototypes which eventually never saw the sunlight, but now it seems that some of them were merely put on hold, not terminated.
After a few months since the premiere of Ace 17, we start to think about the next release. We’d like to show one of the leaks which may be connected with Ace 18+ Purecontrol. There are many differences between this boot and the model available in shops: the upper is not similar at all, the sole seems lighter and it has something like BOOST technology visible on the heel. The stretchy part is also something new, and it could make putting shoes on easier, as well as improve shooting. Looks promising for us!
In one of the recent articles we showed you black/white Superfly V and today we have another model from this collection. Unfortunately, this is not the top level of Hypervenom III, but one of the lower quality versions, Phatal III DF, which is definitely interesting for many of you.
Thanks to this leak we have found, that the earlier shown Superfly V is not a solo model, but a part of a collection and that the third complementary colour will be different for each model. For Mercurial it’s cherry, here it’s dark blue, we expect to see also dark green for Tiempo and for Magista... Yellow maybe?
Or maybe not – Nike intends to release a new generation of Tiempo, which we know will have a yellow launch colourway. That means’ that Magista is not likely to be yellow now, Tiempo will sor some time be the most important model.
adidas Ace 16 was a model which not only got a review on our site, but also was announced a year before its premiere. And after its release things got even more interesting, with countless pictures of new uppers. We knew from the very beginning, that we needed four pairs: synthetic one, synthetic-leather, leather and Primeknit. That’s quite a lot for just one model!
Not many people remember the synthetic-leather mix, because adidas shut down the idea almost immediately. But apparently that’s not the only version which was cancelled before we were able to even see it – the German company intended to release also SL editions of the boot, a lighter construction used previously mostly in adiPure.
It used to be typical, that the quality of the upper would be different, but in this case it seems that the only difference is the sole, which is similar to the one used in F50 and which makes the shoe look more narrow and slender. It looks like this was an edition planned especially for one of the professional footballers. We always like finding out about such titbits, even if they are not the most recent ones.
Those who were disappointed by the leak of another dark Nike composition, which we have recently presented don’t need to worry – now we can show you something that may cheer you up. This is an unusual, probably special edition planned by the American company.
Do you remember Hypervenom III with stars inside the swoosh, which we showed HERE? And there was also a similar Vapor (CLICK). When we look at this composition, we think that this may be another model fitting the collection. The quality of the photo leaves much to be desired, but stars in the back of the shoe are still clearly visible. Apparently, the shiny, sparkling logo is the key feature of this shoe. With such a choice of colours, we have no doubt that the boot will look amazing.
The only model we’re still missing is now Tiempo Legend VI, and as always it makes us ask some vital questions. Should we keep on waiting for the last boot or will Legend VI be omitted for some reason in this special release? On one hand, their unusual construction always can be a reason for that, but then again, in this case we can’t see any obvious explanations as to why would Nike skip them. Even more so, when we realise that this edition could not only be the prettiest Legend VI ever, but also one of the last ones as well, before the seventh generation is released.
The Nike Zoom Vaporfly Elite radically redefines speed on the road — ultra-lightweight and ultra-responsive. Its radical look is also the latest example of Nike’s long-term mission to transform the athletic landscape.
Conventional wisdom dictates that distance racing shoes be lightweight and low to the ground. However, this wisdom also concedes some compromise. For example, with limited cushion how can a shoe maximize energy return?
The answers to these questions are critical to the success of Breaking2, Nike’s innovation moonshot to break the two-hour marathon barrier. As Eliud Kipchoge, Lelisa Desisa and Zersenay Tadese push to get the most out of every stride they will do so wearing the Nike Zoom Vaporfly Elite with Nike ZoomX midsole.
The concept shoe, individually-tuned for each athlete, highlights the product portion of a rigorously researched path to realizing Breaking2’s bold vision and a paradigm shift suggesting that while a “less is more” system has served the past, a “more is more” approach might define the future.
“Form must follow function. We leveraged aerodynamic insights to deliver a radical and iconic aesthetic that screams speed," says Stefan Guest, Sr. Footwear Design Director, Innovation.
The disruptive design follows on the composite function of its components. Rather than totally reinvent the wheel, the shoe completely reimagines materials employed in racing footwear for decades but uses each more intelligently, and more purposefully than ever before.
While traditional racing shoes (flats) keep a low profile, the Nike Zoom Vaporfly Elite’s progressive Nike ZoomX midsole cushioning — remarkably lighter, softer and more responsive than traditional foams — is reflected in a distinctive 21mm forefoot stack height. Designed to give runners more energy return while simultaneously providing cushioning from the road, the Nike Zoom Vaporfly Elite combines athlete insight with biomechanics analysis and cutting-edge engineering.
This results in a brand-new tooling system comprised of the ultra-light, ultra-resilient Nike ZoomX midsole and a unidirectional carbon fiber plate, with an athlete-optimized stiffness profile. Finally, the flow of the heel, modeled for ultimate aerodynamics, adds an iconic flare that screams speed, and an athlete-tuned, 1:1 fit Flyknit upper contains the foot.
“Nike ZoomX truly enables the innovation of the Nike Zoom Vaporfly Elite,” says Tony Bignell, VP of Footwear Innovation for Nike, Inc. “The groundbreaking new Nike ZoomX midsole and curved carbon fiber plate work together to provide responsive cushioning and minimized energy loss at toe off.”
In addition to the 21mm forefoot stack height, the Nike Zoom Vaporfly Elite has a 9mm offset, designed to minimize Achilles strain. This is also reflected in the unique “scooped-shaped” geometry of the carbon fiber plate — visible in the iconic sweep of the midsole coloring. In addition to providing a feeling of forward motion, the carbon fiber plate critically serves to add bending stiffness, tuned to improve stride-by-stride efficiency for the three athletes and minimize energy loss over the course of the race.
“We know stiffer shoes have a big benefit on running economy,” notes Bret Schoolmeester, Senior Director of Global Running Footwear, Fast. “However, too much stiffness can shift the workload from the foot up into the calf, which causes fatigue over distance. For the Nike Zoom Vaporfly Elite, we developed a very specific geometry to reduce that problem.”
Dr. Geng Luo, Nike Sport Research Lab Senior Researcher, Biomechanics, explains, “The goal of having a plate is to reduce how much energy loss happens when the runner bends at the toe. This curved plate is stiff enough to achieve that and because it has this geometry, it does so without increasing demand on the calf.”
The Nike Zoom Vaporfly Elite featuring Nike ZoomX Midsole anchors a system of performance fashioned to help Kipchoge, Desisa and Tadese challenge the 2-hour marathon barrier later this year in Monza.
The runner’s Breaking2 apparel completely rethinks the comfort, fit and weight of traditional marathon kit. It begins with the singlet, made with a Seamless Transfer Knit, allowing for enhanced ventilation where it is most needed. The approach also allows for a completely tailored fit — each athlete’s body scan data and personal preference accounted for. Similarly, the Short Tight — which deviates from the standard short — delivers individualized length and compression level. Additionally, the Short Tight leverages Nike Aeroblade texture to help reduce drag. Arm Sleeves help athletes combat cooler temperatures, while Nike Aeroblade tape helps reduce drag where most critical — the lower legs. Finally, the sock has been engineered to work with footwear to deliver more ventilation where needed and provide a higher level of arch support.
Beyond, the Nike Zoom Vaporfly Elite’s unique construction and game-changing midsole inform the future of Nike Zoom Running — a duo of racing shoes (the Nike Zoom Vaporfly 4% and Nike Zoom Fly) and the all-new Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 34.
Last month Umbro presented their new collection (you can see it HERE) which consisted of Velocita, Medusae and UX-Accuro. We are very fond of this set and were very pleased to find out, that the British company has already showed yet another design, this time only for their youngest model, Velocita. If you’re interested in the boot’s construction read THIS article about the launch colourway. Here, however, we’ll only discuss the looks – which definitely are worth discussing. We’re really grad that recently Umbro has been releasing so many interesting designs.
This is the third official colourway for Velocita III. After “Purple Haze” and “Orange Pop” the time has come for “Astral” – more toned down and calmer than the previous two. But that doesn’t make them boring at all; the design in many shades of blue is really interesting. The upper is darker, laces (covered with starry pattern) and studs are brighter. There are also some white elements which complement the entire composition. All in all it’s a very good colourway and we like it even though it’s not composed of our favourite, garish colours. Well done, Umbro.
Spring is almost here, it’s getting warmer and warmer, time has come for heading onto pitches and recording videos. Life is beautiful again! And some of this beauty comes in a form of new leaks. Last week’s heroes are bright and colourful Nike’s products and today we’ll have some treats for those who prefer more toned down shades.
As you know, since the green Mercurial from Radiation Flare pack, Nike has stopped using a design with stripes running across the upper. That is why in one of the upcoming compositions we’ll see cleats which are mostly black, with some white extras and cherry accents on a collar and studs.
Speaking of changes in a design, it has been confirmed, that Nike will soon start putting a big NIKE signing on the inner part of the Superfly. Will this colourway be the first one to get this treatment?
For a long time we’ve been writing about Umbro as about one of the leading brands on the market. After years of making not-so-interesting GT and such, they began creating really innovative cleats which can compete with the products of the best companies and sometimes even beat them - just think about first Velocita. The recent Orange Pop collection caught our attention but also made us wonder, if the company – even though it still makes good cleats – is slowly losing steam. Why is that so?
It’s a reflection of a modern world of business – Umbro’s offer is nowadays really interesting, but that is simply not enough. We’ve been praising the brand for making good quality products, but what was innovative yesterday quickly becomes today’s daily bread. If the company wants to keep our attention, they must do something more than just release and release.
Recently, new Velocita has been introduced, and even though we find this colourway it really pretty and we like the shoe in general, we don’t think we’ll be able to convince many people to buy it. Very few players use Umbro’s shoes and even fewer in Poland, where the company’s products are simply not available because of the terrible job of the distributor. Their cooperation with media it just as bad, we even wrote a whole article on that HERE (best regards to the person responsible for this mess, Dominik Królikowski).
If redactions of websites such as ours are the only people who care to convince you, that Medusae and Velocita are indeed worth considering when buying new cleats, often a better choice than Nike or adidas, there is no way the product can survive. Umbro should invest in marketing and this decision ought to be made in the headquarters, because apparently local distributors don’t care enough to do anything about the situation.
If you’re following our articles, you have already seen the latest leaks of Vapor and Superfly, but we bet you have not expected this! As a follow-up of the previous leaks we’re presenting an upcoming colourway of Nike Mercurial Superfly V with Anti-Clog sole.
As you’re probably aware, this product is only available in SG version of a sole and its most important feature is the fact that mud doesn’t stick to it so much as to normal soles. The first time we saw it, it was for Superfly V and for some time it was appearing every now and again, but now it seems like it is being released with every collection.
The previous artice on Mercurial Vapor in this colourway was just an introduction to the main course: Superfly V! There are at least a few reasons to get excited about it.
Firstly – it’s a top quality model, which is obvious for every player who ever used them and probably most of those who never had a chance but read our reviews – CLICK. And this colourway... It’s really good, although you have to get used to it. At first it may seem a bit weird, but we promise that tomorrow you may feel different about it. Well, you know how this works ;)
Pink cleats are a special think in Nike releases. One of the most memorable ones is Vapor IV Rosa. Since pink-black Superfly IV this myth has lost its power, but it’s still an unusual colour. And we’ll see it released in March!
Given all the leaks we have shown you in the past few days, this week must seem really interesting. Magista – nice, Hypervenom – great, but it’s the Mercurial most of you have been waiting for. We’re glad to present cleats which seem to be matched with white-lime Opus II and white-green Legend VI. It seems that the pattern for this collection consists of white and an additional colour.
Vapor Xi is a very successful model, we’ve only heard people say good things about it. Professional footballers buy it and praise both its quality and designs. The last one, Radiation flare, was no exception. The next one will hopefully be as gratifying (we are not yet sure it this is the one).
We have to remember that Mercurial can have an extra entry in a schedule of premieres, because another chapter of Christiano Ronadlo’s story is waiting to be released, and it may happen just before or after this release, either way it means that CR7 is not likely to play in the presented colourway.
This week is full of new Nike’s compositions and models. Especially interesting are the ones which not are going to be released in the near future and haven’t been mentioned too many times yet. One of such boots (and by the way, very well looking as well) is white Magista.
Earlier we showed you only the Obra you can see below, but today we add Opus to the set. From what we’ve observed, this second generation is far less popular than the first one, perhaps because Obra was improved a lot. Not to mention the competition coming from Mercurial and Hypervenom.
As a toping we’re adding a picture of white-lime Magista Obra. As we said in one of Tepy Talk episodes, both Obra and Opus absolutely stole our hearts with their construction, design and quality. Check out videos on our YT channel if you want to find out more.
For weeks or maybe even months we’ve been showing you leaks of black/yellow Superfly V, which you can see in the second picture in this article. It turns out, that these pieces of information were connected with a premiere scheduled for a long time ahead, which doesn’t happen often with Nike’s cleats. Today we’re returning to the subject, when there’s still a lot of time separating us from the premiere.
One of the most important questions we always ask about Nike’s boots is whether the model is a part of entire collection or a solo release, such as Hypervenom Strike Night. Today we’re finally able to answer this question regarding the black and yellow composition with a picture of Hypervenom III that clearly belongs with this collection.
The shoes in the first picture are not Phantom III DF but a cheaper edition, Phatal III. Both this model and Superfly look really well, even though they are rather dark. We think this yellow is a perfect match with black. All that’s left is to wait for Magista and Tiempo!
Hello, hello, hello! Say hello as well to a new leak of Nike’s cleats, Tiempo Legend VI. This white colourway makes us think of Radiant Reveal pack, which came out almost a year ago. It also resembles another leak, the one of Magista Obra which you can see HERE.
We must admit that they look really well, which is quite surprising, because we’re usually not the greatest fans of this model. It’s only been a year since its premiere, but the thing about the classical boots is that they stop being fresh and exciting after a relatively short time, because being old-fashioned is a part of their nature. Let us remind you, that the seventh generation will be released after less than the usual two years since the premiere of the sixth one. So it may turn out that this is the last composition for TL VI!
If you think that brands like Asics, Penalty or Concave are unknown just think about Athleta cleats, which we showed HERE. Every now and again we’re really glad to be able to present such exotic models which you most likely have never heard of or seen it. Today we have another chance to share something unusual, cleats made by an American company Skechers. Their speciality are sport, casual and full-dress shoes. Since recently they have been producing cleats as well and have already released two colourways for their first model, both of which we’ll present in this article.
The full name of the boot is Skecers GoSoccer Galaxy. First, we’d like to say a few words about their construction. A synthetic upper is covered with some kind of texture, which is meant to improve control and feeling of a ball. Materials used for the boot definitely don’t look like the best quality and seem to be stiff in places they shouldn’t be. The sole is made of Pebax and TPU and has 12 oblong studs. A very interesting solution called Quick-Fit has been used in this model: a tongue on a heel, similar to the one in NB Furon 2.0, but much bigger. Its main purpose is to make it easier to put the shoe on.
The first colourway is a grey/lime composition and it’s disgusting. We think that mixing grey and lime was a terrible idea, especially that most of the upper is covered with different shades of grey and lime is only used for the insole and sole. The lack of experience is showing! This is not what people want from their football cleats.
The other colourway is white/black, a standard mix of colours. And this one looks much, much better than the previous. The designers kept things simple and used classical colours in a nice composition. Most of the upper is white, details are black. All in all, this is a pretty design, full of harmony, instead of being over-thought like the other one.
Today’s cleats are a very rare guest on TEPY.PL because it’s really hard to buy them anywhere in Poland. The name Concave should sound familiar to some of you, because some time ago we showed another composition for one of their products, which you can see HERE. For those of you who have never came across this brand let us remind, that Concave is an Australian company famous for their rugby and Australian football boots. Some time ago, they decided to start making football shoes as well. Recently new colourways for Volt +, Halo + and Aura + were released.
If you are interested in the construction of the shoes, you can read a lot more about it HERE, and in this article we’ll focus only on the visual side. The first model we’ll discuss is Volt +. The shoe is in an intense, blue colour with some black and white accents, all in all a decent composition. The blue upper has an interesting lightening-shaped pattern, which is meant to symbolise the characteristic feature of this model: speed. Indeed, it’s a typical speed-boot, like e.g. Mercurial. The company’s logo and a part of the sole is white, the inside of the shoe is black. In general we’re not stunned by this composition; it lacks spirit.
Next model is Halo +. Its design is based on the same set of colours, but used in an opposite way. The leading shade is white, which dominates most of the upper, while black (used for the border of a logo, inside pars and most of the sole) and blue (rest of the sole, shoe’s border and some bits of the upper) are supporting. Honestly, this colourway is even worse than the previous one and it most definitely doesn’t fit in our tastes, as we prefer vivid colours.
The last one to discuss is Aura +, the youngest child of the Australian brand. Unfortunately, its design is almost the same as in Halo + and only some details are different. We were hoping for something more surprising and prettier. Concave’s logo and the sole are blue, the inside part and the upper are white. In Halo + there were also some blue accents as well.
To sum up, Concave’s new collection makes a poor impression: Volt + is quite alright, but the rest of it is much worse. It lacks the craziness we love and seek in cleats. It’s a shame that this design turned out so boring, because we know that the Australian brand is very much able of surprising and creating interesting, original colourways.
One of the more interesting models planned for the end of the season, the most intense period, is Puma ONE: a brand new shoe, about which we have written quite a lot already. So far we are not too excited about this model because we don’t think that leather cleats are such a desirable product, which will once again rule the market. But every now and again our predictions are far from true, so we’re waiting to confront them with your feedback.
There aren’t many pictures of ONE, so every new scrap brings a lot to the table. We got some photos showing what probably is one of Puma’s abroad headquarters, where an exemplary shop shelves full of Puma ONEs are visible. We spotted also a future colourway for evoPOWER, the one we wrote about HERE. Thanks to this picture and the fact that Veratti was seen in blackouts, we know that he will be one of the footballers playing in Puma ONE.
Another interesting boot which we should take a look at is an orange evoTOUCH. The colour definitely catches an eye and will interest many of our readers. It’s not the most popular model, but still quite a lot of people ask about discounts for it.
If you want to test it yourself, this composition may be one of your last chances, because both evoTOUCH and EvoSpeed are soon to be shut down, leaving only two models in Puma’s offer. A bold move!
Last week adidas surprised us with their new collection and Nike soon followed and introduced a bit of order into all of our intensively shared leaks concerning the most recent model made by the Americans, Hypervenom III. How many of them have there been? Countless, so many that at least some of them had to be special themed collections, released out of the blue. And it appears that indeed some of them were!
Nike has recently organised an event in London, attended by some of the stars playing in Hypervenom Phantom III. You can read more about that in another article. The reason for the event was a premiere of another colourway, black with silver and red accents, one of many we have already showed on our site.
During the event some details about the shoe were revealed (or rather about its availability, because in terms of construction this version is no different from the previous one). This “party” was a little extra for the main premiere in Munich (check out our coverage – CLICK), and it the same way this release will be an addition to the launch colourway. It’s not a strictly speaking limited edition, with numbered pairs and all that, but it will be available is smaller quantities.
We have just shown you a few “live” pictures of adidas’ upcoming white collection and today we already have some more leaks to share. Not just cleats, but more rare turfs and indoors of the top models.
The first one is “laceless’ Purecontrol, a boot which had a rather unfortunate start but later gained quality in a new generation. Since adidas stopped painting chrome effect on a sole they became less attractive, but this fresh design makes up for the losses a bit.
The more interesting model, however, is Purechaos in turf version. For a long time, we weren’t even aware of the existence of this model, because it was hardly available in shops. After we didn’t like 16.1 Tango (or Court) as much as we hoped we would, we’d really love to know if this model will meet our expectations. And this white composition would be great for running tests on it.
Once again we reach back to leaks a few months old to confront what’s ahead. Recently we refreshed green and white collections by adidas and now it’s time for turquoises, the next thread in the company’s web.
Let’s start with something from the most mainstream part of the collection. We have already shown you this composition on Ace 17.1 and today it’s the cheaper brother, Ace 17.3 Primemesh’s turn. Ace will once again be dark blue and gloomy, we wish it could be more celadon instead.
There’s a lot to be said about this shoe. “TR”, short from “training” is a boot which is not necessarily meant for football and is hard to define with normal terms. We can see a lot of professional Ace 17.1 Primeknit in this model, so while we still don’t like X from Blue Blast, this one has made a great impression on us!
We know that the next collection adidas will release is the green one we promised you a long time ago. Its official name is Turbocharge. It will consist of green X and Ace and different, gold Messi, all of which we posted before on our site. We have reasons to suspect that another collection will be released shortly after this one: “Camo”, another familiar face from adidas’ team.
Today we’re returning to the subject after being rushed by life. Or, to be more specific, by the German company’s white cleats covered with gray polygons. The design looks like a camouflage, which (along the name of a similar composition made by Puma) made everyone start using the unofficial name.
Since the beginning of the year adidas has been doing really well, presenting more and more interesting compositions. Not every one of them was spectacular, think of dark Ace from Blue Blast, but in every collection we can find a daisy. In this particular case X and Ace look amazing. But what about Messi?
On TEPY.PL we often show you leaks of cleats long before their premieres. Sometimes so long that even we forget about some of them! It’s good to take another look at them every now and again, because we wouldn’t want to accidentally omit them when making plans for buying new cleats. Today we’re going to refresh Copa 17.
The youngest child of adidas made a very good impression on us, even though at first we weren’t thinking about it too warmly. But we were wrong and now we admit that technologically and in terms of quality it’s a really great product. The best prove of that is the high rank of leather used for the upper.
Today we’d like to show you another two compositions. The first one is the most garish one so far and it looks a bit like yellow X 17, one of adidas’ other upcoming colourways. The other one is completely different: bright, delicate, in pastel colours. We think it could actually be a female version, but we’ll have to wait and see to know for sure.
Just like in the previous article (HERE), we’re continuing the subject of Nike’s interesting, “starry” collection. We have shown you pictures of white-lime Magista OBRA II in catalogue pictures and now it’s time for some real-life photos.
This is one of the lower quality versions of Magista, but to be completely honest, we find it difficult to tell which one. They seem to be a mix of different levels: they look like one of the cheaper models, like Onda, but the upper is similar to Obra’s.
Each one of Magista shoes has artificial insets where Obra has knitted ones, made of Flyknit. But in this case the upper seems to be made (at least in the front part) like the one in the top model, or perhaps like in indoors and turfs MagistaX Finale, this seems to be an even better comparison. Does that mean that this colourway will bring some interesting changes in Onda?
The hit of this weekend was a leak of one of the future colourways for Nike Hypervenom Phantom III. We showed you normal and DF versions of it. The changes in the design in the form of stars on the Nike’s logo make us think this is a special colourway or set for rather distant future. We also thought for a moment, that it could also be a design made for Robert Lewandowski, but now we now this is not true, because another series has just entered the game.
This is a new leak of Mercurial Vapor XI. The colourway doesn’t obviously look like the other one, because of a different usage of colours, but a single look at the swoosh makes everything clear: there are stars on it as well. The question remains when the colourway will be launched and will the date coincide with an event of some sort. If so, it could be a special colourway after all. What do you think?
Eight of best players from around the worls, with Pierre Emerick Aubameyand among them will stand to compete in the Strike Night. We will find out who is the world's best scorer. You will be able to see that event live from London on Facebook on March 1'st at 18.45. Off course we will post a special link and together with our readers follow what will be going on in London. In the meantime, let's find out what PEA told about the new Hypervenom and his game:
Q. What do you look for/what is important in the HV3 boot?
I love the material of the boot, especially the material that touches the ball. In this respect, the HV3 echoes the original Hypervenom.
How much impact does the boot have in the way you move? What do you need most from the boot?
The boots are the of the utmost importance for a footballer. Even when on vacation, I bring them along. They are built for finshing. And of course, they should have style.
Q. What does it take to become a great finisher (in 5 words)
Work, feeling, placement, speed…and of course having the goal in your head all the time.
Q. Describe your greatest goal – how and when?
I have scored a lot - lol - but if I remember one it was on March 17, 2016 against Tottenham - the day my grandfather passed away.
Q. Tell us about the feeling you experience each time you score…
It is an inexplicable sensation it depends on the moment of beauty of the goal, and of the emotion of the match. The only thing I can remember is that it is one of the most beautiful things in the world.
Some time ago we showed new colourways of Glitch model on our website (CLICK and CLICK). adidas doesn’t slow down and releases yet another one, which completes the “Mirage” collection. Just to remind you – Glitch is a model which can be modified and put together the way we want it. We can choose from a few inside parts of the shoe and also a few outside parts of the upper with a sole.
Does this composition look familiar? We think it does. It reminds us of a similar one released by the German brand, about which we wrote HERE. It’s different from the rest of the collection (except for the white design), very minimalistic and really pretty. It’s peaceful and full of harmony, opposed to the craziness of the other compositions. We were absolutely stunned by the pink and yellow colourways, but this one also has its beauty, character and spirit.
Boots are completely black, with only yellow front of the sole and some elements on the upper, such as details on the stripe on the heel, “MIRAGE SKIN” signing and number “008”. The front part of the upper is covered with scales and the rest of the shoe has a dragon-like pattern. This design is not extravagant but classy, definitely worth your attention.
The world of cleats is not only boots, that’s why we often focus even more on the entire background connected with them. We love the news about uppers and soles, but they are not the only subject of our articles. One of such interesting, “different” subjects was a lawsuit which adidas filed against Puma.
When we first saw the headlines we were a bit confused and frankly, we expected the whole situation to be about some footballer or other, or perhaps a part of the invisible, complicated business system, which rules the market. But the truth turned out to be different and much more surprising. And even though it focuses on an element of a shoe, which should make everything more understandable and transparent for us, it’s exactly the other way around.
adidas has sued Puma for... using three stripes in the most recent evoPOWER Vigor, the launch CAMO colourway. Supposedly, the logo is clearly visible on the upper of this model, and we must say, we’re really confused by this accusation.
This is one of the most absurd things we’ve ever heard. We have been living this subject for years, probably more than many of the employees of either company, so we have quite a lot of experience in the field. And we still don’t understand what the problem is. Firstly, we can’t even see these alleged stripes, secondly even if we did see them the lawsuit would still be a bit absurd.
Take a look at the construction of the boot. The lines on the side are a side-effect of using a new, original and unique lacing system, which helps to stabilise a foot. The most important goal of every footwear producer should always be providing the best quality of a product and stopping them from doing so is simply wrong, even if in the process they accidentally use an element only slightly resembling something like adidas’ stripes. Honestly, is every stripe (a rather common and natural pattern) appearing on a boot a violation of copyrights?
Leaks are often said to harm the producers, even though we’ve always insisted that, surprisingly, they are an important part of creating good marketing. And this lawsuit seems to be a similar case. adidas reasons, that Puma is trying “to trade on the goodwill and commercial magnetism adidas has built up in the three-stripe mark”. It seems that soon using the stripes will be likely to scratch a good name of a company.
The beginning of the month was dominated by adidas’ leaks, but this week has many more news from Nike. After a very interesting article (and even more interesting pictures) of orange-blue Phantom III (KLIK) we have another titbit for you: white Obra II.
Most of this year Nike’s colourways fit our tastes very well and this one is no exception. White cleats are always beautiful and Obra II is a model which makes every colourway look even better, just take a look at Radiation Flare pack. It’s a complete opposite of Opus, which after the first successes in the first generation became rather dull in the second one.
Often, we feel tempted to write an article on something different than cleats or training equipment. After all, a life of a footballer on any level can influence more than what we wear, but many other aspects of our lives. If we train, especially when we’re young and don’t have much pressure to dress “seriously”, the actions of Nike affect not only what we do on a pitch, but sometimes also what we do in general. I understand that very well, because I have been there too. Today, as a short break from leaks and news, I would like to tell you a story from my life – of course also connected with sport.
Not much has changed in the way people get excited about Nike’s ad campaigns for various championships, one of the most recent being Risk Everything. Years ago grown up men would be just as thrilled about these videos are today. We are not even sure is “advertisement” is the right word here, because it doesn’t fully convey how the company has changed the way we receive football. All the tricks, techniques and the true spirit of the game are things that settle inside our minds just as deeply as personal experiences from a pitch.
One of the most memorable campaigns was Joga Bonito, so I decided to give a second life to all the videos and materials about cleats and publish them on TEPY.PL with a suitable commentary. The first of such pieces not about cleats, about which I dreamt as a kid, but about a sweatshirt which Ronaldo – back then only starting on the path of a legend – wore in one of such videos.
I never managed to buy the sweatshirt. Now I get shoes and clothes for free, but in those days I was only beginning to create my collection, which today consists of about 280 pairs of cleats, and had to struggle with every purchase. I couldn’t afford spending 280 PLN on a single piece of clothing and when my mom found one marked down and was willing to borrow me some money, my size wasn’t available.
About two weeks ago I saw online a similar product, which brought all the memories back. Nike created a similar colourway, but with a bit different cut (that one had stars embroidered on sleeves) and I wear it with great pleasure, because it reminds me of the beginnings of my passion. The memories, enthusiasm and passion which sill live inside me are priceless to me, and so is this sweatshirt. Not as a product, but as a symbol of time passing by in my life.
You, my readers, feel the same emotions, that’s why I love to share them with you, because you understand me so well (as you often say yourself). This sweatshirt was given to me by Nike, for which I thank them a lot. If you’re interested, the code of the product is 832114-100. The cleats In the background are Vapor III, the same CR wore in a commercial. What more can I say? Now it’s you turn to add next parts. You live with your passion, you write your own stories, which will one day come back to you as memories of the beginnings of your path. All the best, Zaki.
The news about blue-white Phantom III was interesting as a perspective for the upcoming months, but this one is even more exciting. This is the first time we can present a brand new colourway for normal and DF versions. If you take a closer look, you may already find some differences in the design.
What are they? The little stars inside the Nike logo. Previous generation of Phantom had quite a lot of special editions, but most of them were connected with Neymar. Now, the Brazilian uses Mercurial, and Lewandowski has become the face of Hypervenom. Does that mean that we can hope for personalised, special editions designed for our countryman?
We think that’s a reasonable assumption, that Nike will release at least one – maybe even more – edition made especially for Robert. He is the number one player of the line now, and that means he deserves special treatment from the producer. But this colourway doesn’t seem connected with Lewy in any way, unless it’s a part of a bigger campaign made just for him.
But let’s remember, that what we’re seeing is only the first leak and it may turn out to be a part of an entire collection. Maybe it will soon be followed by more leaks of similar Superfly or Obra. Wouldn’t that be interesting? We think this scenario is probable, which leaves us with a question – will the other models also be orange-blue, or will the stars be the only element they all share?
Last week we showed you a very important leak of one of the future releases of the youngest model among Nike’s cleats, Hypervenom Phantom III. Back then, we wrote about a DF version and today we’re returning to the subject with a short version, Phantom III.
A month after the premiere we can say that Hypervenom was warmly welcomed by the players. Dark composition from Tech Craft pack is also very popular, we are often being asked about some discounts for them. We think that this blue-white colourway will also quickly become one of Nike’s most popular products in the upcoming months – we still don’t know the date of the premiere, but we expect it to be sometime in May.
Although Puma is not as popular as the two leading brands, we are still very interested in all of their releases. This composition made for evoPOWER Vigor, the youngest model of the German company, is no exception. Isn’t this design just crazy? :)
We don’t think that this is a special release, because these usually have more alternations and this one seems still within Puma’s limits of “normality”. Some dark spots appeared on the sides of the upper! It makes the boot look a bit like a very special edition of Nike’s Hypervenom Phantom I Transform, but without the thermo effect.
adidas’ plans for the upcoming months are well known, the main concept bases on colours. First, in November, the leading shade was red, followed by black and blue in cold, gloomy January. Now, when spring is almost here, we think about grass, trees and other springing things, thus the next collection is obviously green.
Summer is the season of warmness. Maybe our links between weather and new collections are a bit far-fetched, because climate varies in different parts of the globe, but still, one of the next releases fits this pattern perfectly with its hot colours, perfect for summer.
This is definitely one of the coolest compositions prepared for this year and, since the green X 16+ Purecontrol (see it HERE) has already been released, it’s certainly the one we’re waiting for most now. In the pictures you can see Ace 17.1 Primeknit, in of one of the best releases so far.
Some time ago we mentioned that Puma is making interesting but also a bit unsettling moves. They intend to shut down evoTOUCH and EvoSpeed, leaving only evoPOWER and introducing new cleats called Puma ONE. You can take a look at them HERE. Some new photos have just been leaked and what’s also quite interesting, it seems like Puma was the one to leak them.
Last week a conference of this company took place, where a lot has been said about financial results and not much about football itself. A few of their products were shown simply as a nice background and one of them was still unreleased Puma ONE. What a funny coincidence!
Now we’re able to take a closer look at the details. This model, just like evoTOUCH, will only be released in leather. It seems that material has sewing, both leather and its little cushions look really soft, which prognoses good performance. The lacing is interesting as well: normal holes are mixed with loops, which are currently gaining on popularity because of adidas. The tape is connected with the inner part of the boot, in the central area. Does that mean that it gets inside the upper and races the sole? That would be a smart solution.
As much as we like a few interesting titbits of Puma ONE, we are worried about the general moves of the company. Some of our older readers may remember that a few years ago, marketing of the brand in Poland was almost nonexistent. For some time, the situation was improving, but now things are getting back to normal. So far, most of you won’t notice it, because you don’t have to wait weeks for them to answer an email. Let’s hope that this is where regress ends and we won’t face a total degradation.
Everyone who calls themselves a fan of cleats knows how important the tiniest are details in creation of the general impression. A bag, a nice box, a small gift are what makes consumers even more happy. Recently, quite a lot of special editions have found their way to Poland, such as limited Superfly V Vitorias. That’s a very nice change, because we used to be able only to see such cleats online and buying them was a complete abstraction. In this product, the “specialness” is very important and we were a bit disappointed to find out, that Polish version is less special than in other countries.
One of our readers bought this beautiful model in one of Polish shops. There is no doubt, that the boots are original, straight from Nike factories. That’s why he was very surprised to find, that his cleats were delivered in a normal, orange box and not a lovely white one like in other countries. What a shame! Special boxes are an important part of user experience, which always seemed important to Nike. But in this case a customer may feel robbed of the unique feeling, because the product he bought is not completely the product promised. We feel offended in his name.
That’s why we asked Nike about it. They responded that the situation may have something to do with regulations connected with packing the products. That’s not very convincing, because such boxes were used many times before for other products. So all in all we don’t know what the issue is, but we hope it will be resolved soon and all customers will be able to equally enjoy shopping on the same level. Especially when producers are so eager to make us more and more interested in buying special editions.
Adidas has recently released three new colourways for their most exotic model, GLITCH. You can take a look at all of them HERE. Today we’re returning to the subject with some more photos and more thoughts on their performance.
We stated clearly, that we absolutely adore the design of “Mirage”. Two colourways take us to a different world, a perfect, colourful place made for our wasted souls, tired with boring, meaningless colourways. We can only imagine how splendid this collection would look on a pitch now, in a winter aura, beautifully contrasting with surrounding snow. These boots are made for people who value looking original on a pitch. The third composition is calmer, more dignified. Almost entire shoe is white and only has some bright, colourful accents. Visually “Mirage” is an absolute phenomenon.
The upper is available in two options: our two beloved compositions are synthetic and the third, white one is leather. We can see a lot of sewing here, so we guess the quality of the material is really good. The stripes on the side provide some extra hardening. The synthetic version of the upper reminds us of Purechaos, which means it’s probably thin and elastic, allows us to feel a ball well. There is sewing here as well, which helps to steady a foot inside the shoe.
So, we can choose from a synthetic upper, a leather one and a new addition: AGILITYKNIT. Soles are available in FG and SG versions. The new colourway for GLITCH is already available, unfortunately not in Poland. You can read more about the distribution of GLITCH HERE.
This topic is bound to keep returning to us like a boomerang. We mentioned a leak of the next generation of X a few times before, but we will surely write about it a lot more. In one of the previous articles we informed, that opposed to some earlier rumours there will be a leather version of the upper. Today, we’d like to take a much closer look at it.
Apparently, adidas is copying their own innovation from adiPure 11Pro III and from their more recent premiere, Ace 17.1 leather. The material is glued to a synthetic plate. As we said before, the boot is not much different from the last generation, though in leather version the changes are more apparent than in synthetic. X 16.1 was made in a classical way, with soft “pillows” made by sewing on the upper.
We are very fond of this colourway, which is (surprisingly) becoming a common phrase for recent adiadas’ releases. The beginning of the year is very successful for this company, especially for the X series, Blue Blast composition and new green upcoming cleats (CLICK). And their future is bright too (literally!) because of the yellow X 17.1, followed by THIS orange Ace.
We’re really glad to share the news, that adidas has just presented a new collection “Mirage” made for GLITCH. We have written a lot about this model, as it’s a successor of the old F50 T-unit, which means it can be modified. A few versions of the inner part of the shoe are available and can be put together with various outside parts, which consist of the main upper and the sole. The idea of making a shoe especially for us is interesting, but this model is hardly available in many places (we wrote about it here). Today, we’d like to present three new colourways created for this boot.
Visually, this collection is brilliant. We could spend hours just staring at it and still not be bored. Congratulations for the designers! We can see a lot of creativity and imagination here; someone was really trying to create something different than usually. Let’s start with the pink composition and its various elements. We are speechless. Honestly, this is a perfectly captured chaos and energy of the pitch, all the movements made by players, all the techniques and actions represented by yellow and red patterns, which almost look like fire. It’s a very extravagant, bold and stunning colourway.
The next in line is a yellow mix with some interesting details, made the same way as the one described above but with different colours. The leading yellow is accompanied by black and pink. This one also makes us think about chaos. We think we can also see something like goldish-pinkish scales in the front part of the boot. Could it be a dragon? Who knows... But we do know that this colourway is amazing as well.
The last composition is very different from the previous two and doesn’t fit them at all. The colours are different and so it the material, because here synthetic was replaced with leather. It’s not so energetic and crazy anymore, but the design it still pretty impressive. It should fit the tastes of all those who prefer wearing more toned down colours. This colourway represents peace and thoughtfulness, also very important factors in football. The upper is white, three stripes on the side are orange. A minimalistic, classy design.
In general, we are stunned by the “Mirage” collection. adidas has created an absolutely amazing set and we can’t say one bad thing about it. Or rather, we can’t say one bad thing about its visual aspect, because we surely can be disappointed that we won’t be able to buy it in Poland. If you want to know why, read THIS article.
Along the new generation of Ace, a new model of indoor shoes was released recently, called Ace 17.1 TANGO. You should know them already, because we have presented some pictures of IN version HERE and TF version HERE. From now on all the indoors and turfs from adidas’ top shelf have TANGO in their names. And we have just brought you another colourway for it, this time shown on a premium model, Ace 17+ Tango.
The upper is identical to the one from cleats, Ace 17+ Purecontrol. This is a boot in TF version just like we stated in the article on Ace 17.1 Tango, it doesn’t really look like a boot for bootball. More like footwear for running or simply walking. That’s why we’ll focus on the much more interesting visual side.
The colourway should be familiar, because it’s a part of the Champions League collection, same as X 16+ Purechaos we showed you earlier. This composition has a nickname “Dragon”, inspired by the beast on the upper, very fitting for the finale of the tournament taking place in Cardiff. The design here, however, is far less interesting than in Purechaos, because we can’t see such amazing details. It looks pretty much like a serial colourway and the dragon isn’t really an important part of the upper. It’s a shame; it seems a bit like adidas got lazy... Compared with the brilliant previous example from this collection, this one is a big disappointment.
Ace 17+ Tango UCL and other boots from this collection will be released in limited quantities in February/March.
We don’t have many pictures illustrating this topic, but sometimes one photo shows just enough. Especially if it’s accompanied by a lot of rumours and speculations. Puma’s indoors have never been in the spotlight, both because they are hardly available in Poland and not very spectacular. It seems like Puma is now trying to catch up with a “sock” concept, but following the old trend somehow they have prepared something that really surprised us.
This model is called simply 365. It theory – nothing interesting, but is we take a closer look we’ll see some amazing innovations. The central part of the shoe is especially unusual, with its mesh, which is clearly a separate element. Does that mean that there are a lot of holes to be used for lacing and we can choose whichever we want? It would give us amazing possibilities of personalising our footwear and maybe improve the quality and performance substantially.
As always, we fear that our fantasies may be a bit too farfetched and reach beyond the fantasies of the designers. Let’s hope they are not, because this idea is really interesting and seems possible to make.
A “Blue Blast” collection was recently released by adidas. One of the brightest stars of the German company is Paul Pogba and that’s why he was given his very own collection of clothes and Ace 17+ Purecontrol. We wrote about all versions of shoes from this collection HERE. Since then, we were able to see Pogba wearing them in every match he played, apart from one against Leicester, where he wore new Blue Blast colourway.
But it wasn’t the normal one, we all know that Pogba rarely uses standard editions. The German brand gave him a special, “enhanced” boot. Not in the terms of construction, obviously, but its visual aspect. We bet everyone around here uses messenger or other communication apps and is familiar with emoji.
The designers decided to use this idea and put one on the upper! An emoji version of Pogba’s face was put near the heel of the shoe. That’s not only cool, but also shows how much adidas values their star: he is the first footballer to get his own emoji. Apart from that, other personalised details are a flag of France and #POGBA signing on the inner side of the shoe.
Nike and adidas, two most important football brands, have recently presented their new collections. But we have mentioned many times that big as they are, those two companies do not own the entire market. Other, smaller teams also try to steal some fame for themselves. This time it’s time for Umbro and their Orange Pop collection, consisting of their three leading models: Velocita, Medusae and UX-Accuro.
Velocita is obviously the most interesting one, because it’s the most recent product. A new, third generation of it was presented in November (you can read about it HERE) and this is only the second official colourway for Velocita III. Today we’re focusing on the visual side of the boot, if you’re interested in its construction you should read the article linked above. We said that the launch colourway was great, but this is even better! As always, we appreciate garish colours used for the colourway. The main shade is of course orange, complemented with black details, such as Umbro’s logo and most studs. All in all, it’s a fantastic composition.
The next model on our list is Medusae, which stands out because of its leather upper. You can find out more about our impressions on it HERE. This composition is also definitely good, even though more toned down than the previously discussed one. It’s not all orange; only the front, leather part of the shoe is made in this colour, while the rest of it is black with orange and white accents. It’s not as bold and crazy as Velocita, but that doesn’t mean it’s not beautiful.
The last but not the least: UX Accuro. The article about the model is available HERE, where you can find all information about the construction. This colourway is the opposite of Velocita: here the upper is black and with single, orange elements. It’s the calmest of all three colourways, extravagance steps down here and maturity takes it place. Black colour gives the boot its strong character and orange bits add some energy.
To sum up, this collection is definitely a huge success. There are always some things we’d like to see different, but in this case we’re really close to perfection. We really like how the colours were used in a minimalistic design. This is another colourway made by Umbro which takes our breath away, before there was also brilliant Purple Haze, which you can see HERE.
This week seems to be full of continuations of the subjects we started (or even continued) before the last weekend. We have already posted an article on black Hypervenom III and now it’s time for green X 16, which we jokingly named Green Blast.
There were some catalogue pictures, now it’s time for live photos. Once again we’re focusing on the top model (if you are considering buying it and want to know more about its construction, you can watch THIS video on our channel). No doubt, Purechaos is a better option from the premium level than Purecontrol, even the one from the most recent edition (the second generation).
Once again, this is a very good composition, fitting our tastes just like Blue Blast did. This is a must-be in every cleats-freak’s collection!
Last week, when we showed you this model in catalogue photos, we didn’t expect to return to the subject this soon. And yet here we are, with photos of the boots taken in real life. This is one of the compositions made for Nike Hypervenom III, in this case Phantom version, without a collar. Let us once again remind you, that Nike decided to change names of their products, so now Phantom is what we used to call Phinish and the once with a “sock” is called Phantom III DF.
Recently the company released Phantom III in a leather version, a part of a Tech Craft Pack. It was very dark, so we immediately connected it with the leak. But there is one other connection. When we’re looking very closely at the upper, its material seems very even, while before we were able to spot the green texture of Flyknit. Does that mean that we’re going to witness changes of the material of Phantom III on a daily basis?
So far we can only speculate. Anyway, we like the upper of the launch composition a lot and don’t think it needs any improvements. On the other hand, diversity and changes are always welcome in cleats. We’ll have to wait until the official premiere, the date of which has not yet been announced, to verify our suspicions.
Recently we presented on our website a new product brought to you by Under Armour: another composition for Spotlight model, you can take another look at it HERE. Today, we’d like to show you another one, this time more garish.
As we said in the mentioned article, this model is very similar to the Speedform model, it seems to be inspired with it. The sole and the heel counter are exactly the same, though the upper is different, because it looks to be synthetic. But what is most important in this case, is how the boot looks.
It’s a yellow/black composition and it is far more attractive than the previous one. We love garish colours, and here we can see a lot of that. There are some bits which are more toned-down, there are some which are crazy. Yellow brings life to this colourway and black adds character and seriousness. We can’t skip the red elements either, because they are a perfect complement for this design. Visually – a hit, which can make up for the poor construction.
Today’s model is a rare guest on our website. That’s not very surprising, because neither the shoe nor the company which makes it are as popular as Nike or adidas. Now, however, we’d like to present you a new, black/white colourway for Under Armour’s Spotlight. The same model in CAMO version appeared once in one of TEPY TALK episodes, which you can watch HERE.
Apart from our Youtube channel, the presented shoe was described on our website as well, when we showed you THESE two colourways of it. One of them is really similar to the one we’re focusing on today. The leading colour is black, supported by white (in the other colourway it was the other way around). The black on the inner side seems brighter, more gray-ish. The sole is also the same colour and these areas are covered with an extra layer of something like that looks like glitter. Even though the colours are rather a classical, typical mix, the shoe still looks good. Not breathtaking, but good.
The construction, on the other hand, is definitely the opposite. It’s not that the boots are badly cut, but they are very similar to Speedform - the sole and heel counter are practically identical. The upper is synthetic, made as a typical speed-boot. All in all, we have a bit of a paradox – the shoe is something new, but nothing new at the same time.
One of the almost forgotten models of the last few weeks is Puma evoPOWER Vigor, which was released on the same day as Nike’s Hypervenom. It didn’t stand a chance against the stronger competitor and hence it didn’t get much spotlight.
Since then, we have published a few leaks and we fear this may be the only recognition the boot will get in Poland, because we don’t expect to see much of in on a pitch. Today we’re presenting a leak of a future composition. There’s been a lot of such info recently, we wrote about two other upcoming colourways in THIS article.
White, leather Vigor which is today’s star, looks very well. We think it may be a really good shoe, just like previous evoPOWER, but it could use some promotion. Leather editions of Puma’s cleats are always a celebration, which means that we can expect good quality material. We are impressed with the way designers working for the company respect white colour. It has been visible in a special form in almost every model made by the Germans.
One of the most important recent changes in footballers’ footwear concerns Ronaldo. It wasn’t drastic, like entirely changing a sponsor, but now he uses a different colourway of Mercurial. And yet the difference was easy to spot, because until now CR7 was playing in a special, limited Vitorias, which he has just replaced with a green composition from Radiation Flare pack. And there may be another change coming!
We have mentioned this colourway before and it’s likely that it’s next in line to be worn by the Portuguese. We don’t expect Cris to be using a standard, serial colourway too soon again, so this must be another composition made for his very own boots. The next “Chapter”, a boot made for Ronaldo to tell his story, will probably be released around February/March.
The said composition most likely harks back to the World Cup played out in South Africa in 2010. We think that the boot, which you can see in turf version, hides many secrets, for example the insole, which is always designed to add some more details to the story told by Nike. We wonder what that detail could be this time.
This is a very interesting subject. Puma intends to shut down both EvoSpeed and EvoTOUH, replacing them with Puma ONE. You can see it again HERE.
The question we still need answered is whether the brand has any special plans for saying goodbye to such an old model, especially when we consider its intention and earlier cleats such as V1. We think we might have just found a trace!
In the picture you can see a leak of one of the future colourways for EvoSpeed. This is one of the cheaper models, which doesn’t fit this special occasion very well, but we’re expecting to see other versions, such as 1.7 or 1.7 SL, too. The design is really original. It could be the special ‘curtain call’ release, but then again the company is known for making such unique compositions almost on a daily basis. We’ll just have to wait and see.
In one of the previous articles we showed you an upcoming colourway for one of Puma’s models, Evo Speed FRESH. It’s a special edition released every now and again, which can pride itself not only with minimal weight, but also with better resistance and incredible designs. Today we’re continuing this topic with a new leak and comparisons.
The last leak, available HERE, reminded us of adidas’ Blue Blast and this one is strangely similar to the green composition made by the same company, which you can see HERE on Ace 17.1 Primeknit. That’s weird! We don’t suppose they intentionally copied adidas’ designs, but the coincidence is quite funny. Especially since this composition will probably be released in March as well, earlier than the other company’s green cleats!
Can you think of another association with this design? That’s right, this composition made for the new generation of FRESH looks exactly like the launch one from the previous. Having both pairs in a collection would be a real treat – it seems like Puma is quite good at making these.
Another jokingly named article! Recently all the new leaks remind us of cleats already in offer, made by the same or another company. adidas' green X 16+ Purechaos became “green blast” in our eyes and now new Puma’s release has been given an unofficial name after the competitor’s composition.
Not so long ago we were praising EvoSpeed Fresh: it’s extremely light, slightly more solid than SL and unspeakably beautiful. You can take another look at it HERE. And now we think we can already spot another composition on the horizon. Most likely it will be released in March, quite a long time after the previous FRESH edition, which means that this time we’ll be dealing with a newer generation of EvoSpeed.
Or at least in theory, because the changes are only symbolic and both generations are hard to tell apart. We can see however, that the upper is now covered with some form of varnish to make the shoe more waterproof and hold a foot in a correct position (or at least try to do it better). We like this colourway a lot, even though it’s very similar to the one adidas released in January.
Fans of Hypervenom are still stunned by the blue-white Phantom III DF, so for today we have prepared something very similar. Leak of the future colourway of Hypervenom III (below) brings up the question about the future female Nike collection.
The company seems to be set on releasing white boots, an idea which we like a lot. White collections have always been successes, the best example of which is Shine Through pack with a memorable Superfly IV. Now we have two related compositions, so probably one of them is meant for ladies, just like in Radiation Flare pack. But which one is it? Can you see any clues?
Recently there’s been a lot of greens on TEPY.PL – and no, it wasn’t the green of dollar bills coming towards us from YT, but the green of new compositions of adidas’ cleats. Most of them should be available in two months, perfectly timed for spring matches. Last time we have shown you X 16+ Purechaos and a similar X 17.1 (HERE). Now get ready for another model!
In the picture you can see one of the newest three-striped boots, Ace 17.1 Primeknit. The “short” version of this model has been in the profile picture of TEPY.PL 2 fanpage for many months. This edition looks stunning and we can’t even describe how much we’re eager to see them in action. Unfortunately, that won’t happen any soon.
We noticed, that adidas is really trying to use original colours this year. They have already released Blue Blast pack this January, now there are some green cleats coming, and also orange ones, which you might have seen in THIS leak of composition for Ace 17. And let’s not forget about brilliant, white CAMO – CLICK.
So far, we have seen three compositions made for cleats from the new generation of Hypervenom: the launch, green/orange one, the green/green Tech Craft and slightly forgotten orange/grey female one from Radiation Flare pack. Today we’re presenting the fourth one, bright as the company’s future.
This is a rare mix of blue and white. When did we last see a mix of these exact shades? It must have been when adidas used them for Predator Powersave or when Nike for their Legend IV. Both boots are not the youngest ones at all and that’s why the design looks so fresh. This is our favourite colourway so far and many footballers playing for clubs which use the same colours will be glad to buy it. Personally, we think it would be a perfect choice for Chelsea’s players – if the colourway doesn’t turn out to be a female one, that is.
Recently Nike has surprised us with a new Tech Craft release, or rather the fact that it will consist only of Hypervenom III. Now we’d like to present another leak which is a bit unusual. It seems like the company will make a habit of creating solo editions, because we have just found two unannounced compositions for Tiempo Legend VI. And ONLY Tiempo!
As you can see, both are rather toned-down. They don’t have any garish elements or extravagant design. On one hand, they resemble the spirit of this model perfectly, on the other they seem somehow recycled. We have already seen a similar composition made for Premiere. That’s why in this case we don’t find the colourways half as interesting as their background, because it’s starting to look like Nike may have a new marketing strategy. That would mean even more interesting premieres!
We can see two explanations. One: Nike has decided to start releasing single editions, a practice which until now was reserved for very special, limited colourways. Two: what we’re seeing is in fact a part of Tech Craft pack (which is hard to determine in case of Tiempo) and we should expect leaks of Mercurial and Magista soon.
In the previous article we have shown you a green version of adidas X 16+ Purechaos, which should hit the market in approximately two months. We have mentioned that they remind us of another product and today we’d like to tell you something more about this connection. This is another colourway for X 17, the next generation of X series.
The first composition created for this model was yellow; you can take a look HERE. One of the next compositions clearly resembles this one, but adds some dark greens to the yellow. As a result we get a really interesting colourway, which definitely caught our eyes. Details such as a yellow border of adidas’ logo are what makes this design so special and boots the general reception.
Not surprisingly, the next generation of X bases on the success of its predecessor and therefore is not much different from it. The question is: will it be more like Puma and their EvoSpeed, which didn’t bring much to the table, or will it be like Nike’s Superfly V, which was visually much alike the fourth generation, but the difference in performance was huge. Well, we must wait and see.
As you all know, Nike has recently released their Radiation Flare collection. Obviously, the most important boot in the packet is Hypervenom III, the premiere of which we attended in Munich; you can watch our relation from these events HERE and HERE.
Today we’ll be talking about it too, because Nike has just added an option of personalizing this model on NIKEiD. From now on, it’ll be possible to order them in more unique versions just like the rest of the collection.
The upper can be designed to have two colours or one, like in standard version. The knitted part (the outer one) is available in three colours, the rest of it (the inner) as many as eight. The laces are also available for customization and can be ordered in one colour or a mix of two (and there are many colours we can pick). Swoosh and the front plate can be coloured, but unfortunately the sole is set to be black.
We have a choice of three options: FG (for wet, short grass), SG-Pro (wet surface) and AG (artificial grass). We can also choose between flags of thirteen countries, unfortunately Polish one is not among them. We can’t really understand why, given that Nike is a sponsor of our national team and Robert Lewandowski is the face of Hypervenom line. Other available options are pseudonym (five letters) or initials.
The interesting thing is the price: standard Hypervenom III costs 1249 PLN, personalized – 1209 PLN. It was always the other way around, and it seemed logical, that we had to pay more for a special version than the normal one.
Puma doesn’t slow down after releasing two special colourways from “Derby Fever” collection and presents another, this time a serial one. You already know it, you have seen it HERE. In our opinion it should be called black/white, but well... somebody at the company thought differently.
The presented model is evoTOUCH, the construction of which we discussed many times before. That’s why now we’re only going to focus on how they look in this release. The design is minimalistic, but despite the simple colours it really seems promising. Black with white accents looks stunning. Puma’s logo is also covered with something glistening, which creates an even better effect. The colourway does have a certain spirit.
In the article we mentioned earlier we stated, that this is the prettiest evoTOUCH we’ve seen so far. And we’re going to stick to that, now even more firmly than before.
We have been waiting so long for blue-pink X16 from adidas’ Blue Blast collection (or at least that’s how we feel about it, but it always seems like the time runs more slowly when we’re waiting for something we like)! But now the waiting is over; we can buy it and move on to other collections.
One of the most interesting ones scheduled for the next few months is the one we jokingly called “Green Blast”. It’s just as bright and pretty as the recently released colourway, but obviously the name will be completely different. In the picture above we present the top quality model, 16+ Purechaos. Its beauty is undeniable, and they remind us of another interesting titbit. We’ll tell you more about it soon.
As you all very well know, a few days ago another derby match was played out in London, where Chelsea players showed their supremacy. We mentioned this meeting when we showed you a special colourway from “Derby Fever” made for Arsenal’s player, Hector Bellerin. A footballer from Chelsea’s team, Cesc Fabregas, also was honoured with a special composition from Puma. We announced it before many times, you can read the article HERE.
The presented model is Evotouch and it’s the second time we’re seeing it in the “Derby Fever” series. The previous one was made for Santi Cazorla, you can take a peek HERE. We won’t focus on their construction, instead let’s discuss the design.
Obviously, the colours of the boot, blue and white, are connected with Fabregas’ club. Other symbols have found their place on the upper as well: there is a lion on the outer side of the right shoe, a reference to Chelsea’s emblem. On the left one, geometrical shapes represent Spaniard’s creativity and unconventional moves on a pitch. Under the laces there is a “LONDON DERBY” signing and another text “DERBY FEVER” in a little circle on the side. When it comes to visuals, there is not one bad thing we can say about this release.
We’re expecting to see this edition (of course in limited numbers only) in shops soon.
Today, we’re continuing the subject of adidas’ “champagne” collection. We mentioned it already last week and showed pictures of Copa 17 and 16+ Purechaos. Now we’re going to present some more photos of other, even more interesting models.
Let’s start with the one, which is (surprisingly) the less exciting in comparison. This is a special Ace 17+ Purecontrol composition, which evidently harks back to some traditional boots from the legendary series adidas shut down a few years ago. But...
Every now and again the company tries to make up for that mistake by presenting unique releases of their old cleats. Some time ago we saw refreshed Predator Mania, Precision and their first classical, dark composition from 1994. Now it’s time for the second most popular, white/black/red composition created for the remake of Predator Mania. Should we be expecting any more surprises?
This is an interesting piece! We mentioned recently, that adidas is going to release a two-model UCL collection made for the Champions League and unofficially called “dragon” after the design. We were honestly surprised when we found out, that not only the two boots we mentioned before will be available in this composition, but also special editions of an indoor and a turf!
And it may be even more surprising for our readers, because the boot is barely available in Poland, so many of you might have not known that there exists X 16+ Purechaos indoor or turf. A great model, one of the most interesting ones actually, and unfortunately it’s almost impossible to buy it anywhere in our country.
Now adidas will release a special edition of it, and the design is a bit different from the one created for the cleats. It’s not the first time that Court and Cage models (or TANGO, as we should now call it) look differently from their cousins. And we think that’s good, the more originality and freshness!
One of the most interesting upcoming premieres is a special pack which adidas has prepared for the Champions League. Today, we’d like to remind you about it with some new pictures, of what we like to call the “dragon pack”.
That’s not the first time the mythical creature has found its place on the German company’s boots. Most often they accompanied special Yamamoto releases, which regularly appeared in F50 series, from Tunit to adizero V. This model has not been made in cooperation with the Japanese designer, but the dragon is still a part of the upper. The boot is mostly white, which makes for a nice change.
Just like the last time, cleats from X and Ace lines are being released, we don’t expect to see any other models in this composition. That wouldn’t be the first time adidas does that, the gold edition was also launched this way. Although... there may be one more surprise... Follow TEPY.PL and you’ll know what we’re talking about soon.
It was only last week when we showed you a leak of this model and said that we’re expecting to see it released at the end of February. But it turns out that Nike didn’t keep us waiting this long and presented the new edition of their youngest child just before Valentine’s Day. Maybe they figured out that, with the right, fast distribution, many girlfriends will have enough time to buy it as a present for their boys. Well, we wouldn’t mind getting such a gift. And probably many girls wearing male sizes wouldn’t either ?
It’s quite unusual, that the model has only been available since two weeks ago and we haven’t even seen its second standard colourway yet, but we’re already getting a special one. As you probably remember, Tech Craft pack consists of leather versions of boots which are normally synthetic. Apart from Tiempo, that is, which usually gets premium quality leather instead of normal one (and we must admit that release was a big success on that field). The thing is, we shouldn’t really be discussing other lines here, because it seems that we won’t get them anyway!
This is a weird situation, since this Tech Craft pack is actually not a pack at all and consists of only Hypervenom, instead of all models. As always, it will only be available in top quality, professional versions: Phantom III and Phantom III DF. That is understandable, but why was only this one model released? In the past, there was only one situation, when a smaller pack was made (without Tiempo). But that was on a completely different scale and soon after Nike announced that an earlier released colourway for Tiempo fits the pack. But this time there are no other versions for Magista, Mercurial and Tiempo, and it’s not likely to change.
Nike is well known for keeping things close to their chest, but even they wouldn’t be able to stop all three models from being leaked for this long. The only explanation is that they wanted to create an even bigger hype around Phantom III and create this solo version.
As we’ve written before, we’re not the greatest fans of the colour of this edition of Hypervenom, but we’re still very intrigued and excited about the release. Unlike most of you, we’re more curious about Phantom III, the one without the Dynamic-Fit collar. That’s because we already have the best option, but the “short” one remains a mystery. Apart from that, Nike usually makes the uppers of leather editions a bit different than the synthetic ones. Will it be the case this time as well?
A few months ago Puma started releasing special colourways from the “Derby Fever” series. Some of the stars who received their own, personalised models are Cazorla, Griezmann and Veratti. Today we’re returning to the subject with another composition, this time for Héctor Bellerín.
The footballer is currently playing for Arsenal London, which had a game against Chelsea this weekend. Did you know that the first match of those two teams was held 110 years ago? But let’s focus on what’s most important: the boots! This is evoSPEED 17.1 Sl.S, its construction is the very same as in the standard model, so we’re going to just focus on the design.
It’s inspired by the Bellerina club colours, so it’s mostly red and white. Puma’s logo is black, there’s a “Derby Fever” signing on the side, “LDN Champions” under the lacing. Texts and patterns surrounding the heel create a very interesting visual effect. What more can we say: we really like the composition and we’d really love to have a pair of such shoes.
Soon they should be available in shops, sold only in small quantities – it’s a limited edition after all.
Today we’re talking about NEMEZIZ again. The new line presented by adidas will be launched in June and it keeps revealing some secrets to us. You have seen quite a lot of colourways by now, launch, white one dedicated to Messi and an orange one. And here comes another!
Can you see something unusual? Take a closer look at the heel and compare it with older leaks. Different, isn’t it? In earlier versions, NEMEZIZ had an internal heel counter, now it external as well. One of our readers has sent us a message, which may contain an explanation for the mystery of these cleats.
In the message, there was a link to female adizero IV on eBay. What’s interesting, that model had a sole from adizero III. adidas often manipulated the designs of female cleats, giving them elements different than in male versions. We think that may be the case here: what we’re seeing right now is a female colourway, which seems even more likely, when we think carefully about colours.
Every year there always comes a moment, when the normal cycle of premieres is interrupted by something different. adidas has mastered the art of surprises and releases a few special boots quite regularly; for example gold X and Ace, presented in premium levels – Purecontrol and Purechaos. This year, the most popular motif seems to be “cleats for Champions League”.
It’s hardly surprising that adidas decided to fully use the possibility of making such boots; they are a technical sponsor of the tournament after all. But usually it turns out, that the name of the model comes only from the moment of release and the design of the shoe is not much connected with the event itself. The only Champions League detail is in most cases a logo on the sole. Which, of course, doesn’t mean the shoe is ugly!
It’s quite the opposite, actually. As far as we know, both X and Ace are being released this time, and while Ace seems dark and typical and quite similar to the Blue Blast collection, we have absolutely fallen in love with X. A completely new mix of colours and a cool idea for the graphics – it seems to be a breathing fire dragon! We wonder what the back-story of this design is.
In the last few articles we were describing new NB cleats and noticed that their leather cleats are released in different colourways than the synthetic versions. But it turns out that in some cases they may release both boots in the same designs every now and again, just like adidas or Nike.
Apart from the sea of negative opinions about Visaro II, we did manage to find some positives as well, a nice composition used for Furon II which will be released soon. Today we’re presenting another one, which seems to be a twin brother of the launch colourway of the refreshed Visaro.
The performance of this model may not be breathtaking, but the design definitely catches an eye. And now, when we know how ugly the new Visaro is, old Furon seems even prettier than before. But the general effect reminds us of a middling girl surrounded with ugly friends and we’re not really sure if that’s what we’re looking for when buying new cleats.
Another titbit from adidas! There has been quite a lot of them recently: first a special edition for the World Cup, then gold Messi 16 and now this. We’re glad to presents two leaks of what seems to be another special release.
In the pictures you can see two models: the first one is adidas X 16+ Purechaos, the other is Copa 17. The name of the composition (if this actually is the official name; there hasn’t been an official announcement yet) fits the colour perfectly. White uppers of the boots really do look a bit like the pale shade of champagne. Red and black details, so typical for adidas, complete the design perfectly.
If you think this colourway looks a bit familiar, you are right. In 2000 a similar composition was released for Predator Mania. Do you remember THIS leak? A re-edition of this legendary model will be released along the presented cleats. That’s the icing on the cake we’re waiting for!
Recently we wrote about new colourways for Messi 16 line and presented 16.1, the professional model used by Messi himself, which is a bit surprising, given that there is another higher quality level available. The top shelf model is 16+ Pureagility, which has covered laces just like Purechaos. And like all top models (well, perhaps apart from Purecontrol, which we’re not very fond of) it always looks amazing.
No surprise then, that the upcoming release also looks stunning in its “plus” version. It’s absolutely beautiful! We knew from the beginning, that gold colour is going to make is a hit, which is a rare situation when it comes to this line, signed with the name of the famous footballer. And in this case we don’t have the awkward feeling we had when Neymar received is gold Phantom I for World Cup in Brazil: “too soon”.
Gold cleats made for a footballer are a way of honouring the best of the best and should not be awarded too easily. Ronaldo (R9) has his own pair, so did Beckham and Zidane. We have no doubt that Messi deserves a similar treatment and should wear his special model with pride. It’s a shame though, that the chrome effect is no longer a part of the sole for this model. That would make the boot even better.
